This set of markets tracks the performance of the NZDUSD currency pair at a specific future moment. Each market evaluates whether the exchange rate exceeds a particular threshold, allowing participants to speculate on potential movements in the value of the New Zealand Dollar relative to the US Dollar.
All markets resolve based on the NZDUSD exchange rate's opening candlestick value at 5pm ET on September 11, 2026, as published by Pyth. Each market has a unique threshold; if the rate is above its respective threshold at that time, the market resolves to Yes, otherwise to No. Data is rounded to four decimal places. If Pyth does not publish data at exactly 5pm ET, the most recent available value before that time will be used. Any revisions to the exchange rate after the expiration time are disregarded when determining the resolution outcome.
Currently, it's important to note that this market represents the collective prediction of traders on Kalshi. Comparing these odds to traditional analyst forecasts reveals how market-based predictions differ from expert opinions. Do analysts generally anticipate the NZDUSD exchange rate to be above 0.579 at the specified time? If so, the market odds may align, suggesting a consensus view. Conversely, if analysts predict a lower rate, the market might present an opportunity to capitalize on differing perspectives, reflecting a contrarian bet.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction, meaning traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about whether the NZDUSD exchange rate will be above 0.579 at the specified time. The price of these contracts fluctuates based on supply and demand, directly reflecting the collective wisdom of the crowd. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price indicates the probability that traders assign to this outcome, with higher prices suggesting a greater likelihood. This dynamic pricing mechanism ensures the market is constantly adjusting to new information and sentiment.
This market resolves around Sep 11, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the resolution will depend on the official NZDUSD exchange rate at 5:00 PM EDT on September 11th, as reported by a widely recognized financial data provider. The market will settle to 100 if the rate is above 0.579 at that time, and to 0 if it is at or below 0.579. Traders will then receive or pay out funds based on their positions in the market.
Several factors could significantly influence the NZDUSD price and, consequently, this market. Major economic data releases from New Zealand or the United States, such as inflation reports, employment figures, or GDP growth, are key catalysts. Unexpected shifts in monetary policy by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand or the Federal Reserve could also trigger substantial price movements. Geopolitical events or changes in global risk sentiment could also impact currency valuations, leading to fluctuations in this market. Keep an eye on these developments to understand potential shifts in trader sentiment.
