This market often reflects a different outlook than traditional polling averages. While polls sample public opinion through surveys, traders on Polymarket price in real-time information, including campaign momentum, news coverage, and historical trends. As a result, this market can sometimes show a wider or narrower margin than polls, especially when unexpected events occur. Monitoring both can give a fuller picture of voter sentiment and market expectations leading up to Sep 1, 2026.
This market resolves around Sep 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The settlement will depend on official tallies of verified social media posts from the NYC Mayor’s accounts during the specified period, closing the market based on observable, public data rather than internal assessments.
Several signals could shift this market before it resolves. Key events include major news coverage of the candidates, policy announcements, debates, endorsements, or controversies from August 25 to September 1, 2026. Any surge in public interest or a change in posting frequency may also influence trader sentiment. Additionally, broader political developments and shifts in public sentiment can impact pricing on Polymarket as the resolution date approaches.
