Jack Schlossberg is running in the 2026 New York's 12th congressional district Democratic primary election. This market tracks what percentage of the total valid votes cast he receives in the official certified results from that primary election.
Resolution is based on Jack Schlossberg's certified percentage of valid votes cast in the 2026 NY-12 Democratic primary, calculated as (total votes received ÷ total valid votes cast) × 100. Vote percentage is determined from certified/official results only, excluding preliminary counts. Write-in votes are included if they appear in certified results; invalid, spoiled, or rejected ballots are excluded from both numerator and denominator. If ranked choice voting occurs, the percentage reflects the specified round or the first round if unspecified. If the election is cancelled, postponed beyond market expiration, or no certified results are available by expiration, the market resolves to No. If a recount changes the certified percentage before expiration, the most recent certified percentage determines resolution.
Prediction market odds and traditional polling often diverge because they measure different things. Polls capture voter sentiment at a single moment, while prediction markets aggregate real-money bets from traders who profit only if their forecasts prove accurate. This market incorporates not just current polling data but also trader assessments of campaign momentum, fundraising, endorsements, and turnout dynamics. Over time, markets tend to incorporate polling shifts faster than polls themselves update, making them a complementary signal rather than a direct replacement for survey data.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing different vote-share ranges or outcomes. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The bid-ask spread reflects the current consensus and liquidity available at each price level. As new information emerges—polling releases, debate performances, or endorsement announcements—traders adjust their positions, moving the market price. The platform's matching engine ensures transparent price discovery, with all trades executed at posted prices visible to participants.
This market resolves around Jun 23, 2027, once the New York Democratic primary election concludes and results are verified against credible public sources. The outcome will be determined by Schlossberg's official vote share as reported by election authorities and confirmed through independent reporting. Traders holding positions aligned with the final result will receive payouts proportional to their stake, while those on the opposite side will forfeit their investment.
Several catalysts could shift this market significantly. New polling releases showing changes in voter preference will likely trigger immediate repricing. Major endorsements from party figures, labor unions, or community organizations could reshape expectations about turnout and support. Debate performances, media coverage, and campaign spending announcements may also influence trader sentiment. Unexpected candidate exits or consolidations in the race could dramatically alter vote-share projections. Closer to election day, early voting data and turnout models will become increasingly important signals that traders incorporate into their positions.
