Test launches of other systems, including surface-to-air missiles (SAMs), multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS)/rocket artillery, torpedoes, or similar systems, will not qualify. Resolution will be based on publicly available information from reliable sources such as official government statements, reports from international monitoring bodies like the United Nations, or reports from reputable international media.

Comparing the predictions embedded in this market to those of geopolitical analysts reveals how collective intelligence stacks up against expert opinion. Currently, analysts offer a range of forecasts regarding North Korea’s potential actions in October 2026, considering factors like international relations and internal political pressures. This market provides a real-time, aggregated forecast based on traders’ willingness to buy or sell contracts, offering a potentially more dynamic and up-to-date view than static analyst reports. Discrepancies between the two could highlight areas of disagreement or uncertainty.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing their beliefs about the number of North Korea missile tests. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that specific outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the collective wisdom of the crowd. The market’s depth – the volume of contracts available at different price points – indicates the level of confidence traders have in each potential outcome. This dynamic pricing ensures the market remains responsive to new information.
This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the total number of confirmed missile tests launched by North Korea during the entirety of October 2026, as reported by reputable news agencies and governmental sources. It’s important to note that the outcome is determined by objective data, not subjective interpretations or political statements. The final number of tests will be the basis for determining winning and losing contracts in this market.
Several signals or events could significantly impact this market before it resolves. Diplomatic developments – such as negotiations between North Korea and other nations – could alter expectations. Any significant shifts in North Korea’s internal political landscape or military posture would also be closely watched. Major international incidents or escalations in regional tensions could also drive price movements. Unexpected statements from key leaders or changes in sanctions policies are additional catalysts that could influence traders’ assessments and, consequently, the price of contracts in this market.
