The 2026 New Caledonia provincial elections are currently scheduled to be held on June 28, 2026. This market will resolve to the next individual who officially assumes the office of President of the Government of New Caledonia by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET. To count for resolution, the individual must be officially appointed and sworn in as President of the Government of New Caledonia. Any interim or caretaker President will not count toward the resolution of this market. If no such President takes office by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to “Other”. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the Government of New Caledonia (https://gouv.nc/); however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

This market resolves around Jun 30, 2027, once the election outcome is verifiable from credible public reporting. The winning contract pays out based on who is officially confirmed as the next President of the Government of New Caledonia. Until that date, prices will fluctuate as traders reassess candidate viability in response to campaign developments, polling shifts, and political announcements. Early resolution is possible if a candidate withdraws or the election is postponed, though the market will remain open until the official result is known.
Major catalysts include campaign announcements, debate performances, and shifts in public polling that traders interpret as meaningful changes in electability. Endorsements from influential political figures or organizations can reshape expectations overnight. International or domestic political crises may alter voter priorities, moving odds in unexpected directions. Media coverage of candidate scandals, policy proposals, or coalition-building efforts will likely trigger repricing. As the election date approaches, final polls and early voting data typically generate sharp moves. Traders also monitor turnout forecasts and regional voting patterns, since New Caledonia's diverse constituencies can swing outcomes significantly.
