This event tracks the performance of a major stock market index on a specific date, dividing possible outcomes into narrow numerical ranges. Investors and analysts often monitor such indices to gauge market sentiment and economic health, making this a practical tool for forecasting and strategic planning.
Each market resolves based on the end-of-day value of the Nasdaq 100 index on September 04, 2026, falling within one of several specified numerical ranges. If the index closes below 28,200, the first market resolves to Yes. For values between 28,200 and 30,999.99, corresponding markets resolve to Yes based on their respective ranges. If the index closes above 30,999.99, the final market resolves to Yes. All markets close on September 04, 2026, and expiration occurs at the sooner of the first data release or one week after that date. The Exchange has modified the Source Agency and Underlying for indices markets as per the Kalshi Rulebook.
Compared to traditional analyst forecasts, prediction market odds offer a real-time, crowd-sourced view of expectations for the Nasdaq-100's price range. While analysts may publish target levels or ranges based on models and fundamentals, this market aggregates trader bets, incorporating a wide range of information including recent market moves, macroeconomic data, and investor sentiment. The resulting odds can diverge from or align with analyst consensus, providing a complementary perspective on where the index might close.
This market resolves around Sep 4, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final settlement is based on the official closing value of the Nasdaq-100 index at 4pm EDT on that date, compared against the defined price ranges in the market. Traders will see their positions settle automatically once the index's closing level is beyond dispute, closing the market and determining payouts for all participants.
Several signals could shift this market before it resolves, including key macroeconomic data releases such as U.S. employment reports, inflation figures, or interest rate decisions from the Federal Reserve. Earnings season results from major Nasdaq-100 constituents, geopolitical developments, or sudden market volatility events may also influence trader sentiment. Technological breakthroughs, regulatory news affecting tech firms, or shifts in investor risk appetite can cause rapid re-pricing of outcomes as the market approaches Sep 4, 2026.
