This market tracks where the Nasdaq-100 index closes on June 22, 2026 at 4pm EDT. Traders bet on which 100-point price range the index will fall into, from below 29,000 up to 31,800 or above.
The market resolves based on the end-of-day Nasdaq-100 index value on June 22, 2026. The index value is divided into consecutive 100-point ranges, with the lowest range covering values below 29,000 and the highest covering values at or above 31,800. Each range corresponds to a separate market outcome that resolves to Yes if the closing index value falls within that range. The market closes on June 22, 2026 and expires at the sooner of the first release of the data or one week after June 22, 2026. Per the Kalshi Rulebook, the Exchange has modified the Source Agency and Underlying for indices markets.
Prediction market odds reflect real-money commitments from traders and often diverge meaningfully from published analyst price targets. While traditional equity analysts issue point forecasts or ranges based on fundamental research, this market aggregates distributed beliefs through continuous price discovery. Traders betting on specific price bands incorporate forward-looking sentiment, volatility expectations, and event risk that may not be fully captured in static analyst reports. Comparing the implied probabilities here to consensus forecasts can reveal where market participants see asymmetric risk or opportunity relative to professional opinion.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares corresponding to each price range outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The cost of each share reflects the market's collective assessment of that outcome's likelihood. As new information emerges or trading interest shifts between outcomes, bid-ask spreads widen or tighten, and prices adjust to clear supply and demand. Participants can enter limit or market orders to establish positions, with final pricing determined by the last executed trade in each outcome contract.
This market resolves around Jun 22, 2026, once the Nasdaq-100's closing price on that date and time is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which price range bracket the index falls into at the specified moment. Resolution occurs after the market close and official data publication, ensuring all participants have access to the same verified information. Winning shares are credited based on the confirmed price level, and losing positions expire worthless.
Major catalysts affecting this market include Federal Reserve policy announcements, corporate earnings surprises, macroeconomic data releases, and geopolitical developments. Technology sector earnings—which heavily influence the Nasdaq-100—can trigger sharp repricing of price range odds. Inflation reports, employment data, and shifts in interest rate expectations also drive significant moves. Intraday volatility spikes around key economic releases may cause traders to reassess tail-risk outcomes. Closer to the resolution date, final positioning and options expiration dynamics can amplify price swings in the final trading hours.
