The outcome tracks which political party secures more support from male voters during the 2026 U.S. midterm elections. This is determined by analyzing exit poll data specifically for male respondents, reflecting broader electoral trends and voter preferences among this demographic.
The market resolves based on the national U.S. House exit poll data for male voters, with CNN as the primary source. The applicable figure must be displayed by November 6, 2026, at 12:00 PM ET; if unavailable, CNN remains the source for an additional 24 hours. If still unavailable, CBS and then ABC will be used, in that order, through November 7, 2026, at 11:59 PM ET. A party wins if it receives the higher reported share among male voters. In case of a tie, each tied strike receives an equal portion of the Settlement Value, calculated as 1/N, where N is the number of tied strikes.
Currently, prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than traditional polling averages. While polls aim to capture a snapshot of current voter intentions, this market aggregates the informed opinions of individuals with skin in the game. Discrepancies can arise due to differing methodologies, weighting, and the ability of market participants to incorporate a wider range of factors, such as turnout probabilities and strategic voting considerations. It's common to see this market adjust more quickly to new information than polls, offering a potentially more responsive indicator of the likely outcome.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome – in this case, which party will win the men’s vote in the midterms. The price of a contract reflects the market’s probability assessment of that outcome. As more traders participate, the prices converge to reflect the collective wisdom of the crowd. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price indicates the cost to purchase a contract that pays out if the corresponding party wins, and conversely, the amount a seller receives for offering that contract.
This market resolves around Nov 8, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official results reported by major news organizations and election authorities regarding which party receives the most votes from male voters in the midterm elections. The specific methodology for determining the winning party will adhere to standard election procedures and will be based on the final, certified vote counts. This ensures a transparent and objective determination of the market’s outcome.
Several signals and events could significantly impact this market. Major economic announcements, shifts in key policy debates, and unexpected developments in the political landscape could all influence trader sentiment. Polling data releases, particularly those focusing on male voter preferences, will likely cause price adjustments. Furthermore, any significant endorsements or campaign events could also move the market. Finally, unforeseen events – such as major news stories or candidate gaffes – could introduce volatility and alter the probabilities reflected in this market.
