Currently, the odds on Polymarket strongly suggest a high probability of MicroStrategy making the announced Bitcoin purchase. This contrasts with broader market sentiment, which is often influenced by macroeconomic factors and general cryptocurrency price fluctuations. While spot price expectations reflect immediate supply and demand, this market focuses specifically on the likelihood of a defined corporate action. Discrepancies between the prediction market and spot price movements can arise due to the focused nature of this market and the information traders incorporate into their forecasts.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of MicroStrategy announcing the purchase. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is driven by supply and demand – if more traders believe the purchase will happen, the price of shares increases, and vice versa. This creates a dynamic pricing system that reflects the collective wisdom of the crowd.
This market resolves around Sep 29, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the resolution will depend on whether MicroStrategy publicly announces a Bitcoin purchase of greater than 1000 BTC between September 22nd and September 28th. Any official statement from MicroStrategy, released through their investor relations channels or official press releases, will be used to determine the outcome of this market. The resolution will be based on the announcement itself, not on speculation or rumors.
Several signals could significantly impact this market. Any official statements from MicroStrategy’s CEO, Michael Saylor, regarding their Bitcoin strategy would be a major catalyst. Unexpected news related to Bitcoin’s price, regulatory changes impacting cryptocurrency investments, or broader macroeconomic events could also influence trading activity. Positive news about MicroStrategy’s financial performance might increase confidence in their ability to make the purchase, while negative news could decrease it. Increased trading volume in the days leading up to the September 22nd-28th window could also indicate growing conviction among traders.
