Opinion
This market will resolve to "Yes" if the official "Close" price for Microsoft (MSFT) on the trading day specified in the title is strictly higher than the price specified in the title. A "Close" exactly equal to the specified price resolves to "No". If the market is not open on the specified day (exchange holiday or unscheduled closure), or Microsoft (MSFT) does not trade at all during that day's regular session, this market resolves 50-50 — each side is paid at half value; this is not a refund. In the event of a stock split, reverse stock split, or similar corporate action affecting Microsoft (MSFT), this market resolves on split-adjusted prices, and the price specified in the title is adjusted proportionally. The resolution source for this market is Yahoo Finance, specifically the Microsoft (MSFT) "Close" prices available at https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/MSFT/ under "Historical Prices". If that data is unavailable due to an outage or other technical disruption, the official price published by the primary exchange on which Microsoft (MSFT) trades governs.

Currently, prediction market participants believe there is a chance that the MSFT price will exceed a certain point, as reflected in the odds on Opinion. This contrasts with traditional analyst forecasts, which may rely on different methodologies and data sets. Often, prediction markets can offer a more forward-looking perspective, incorporating a wider range of information and collective intelligence. However, it’s important to remember that both prediction markets and analyst forecasts are subject to uncertainty and can be inaccurate. Comparing the two can provide a more nuanced understanding of potential outcomes.
This market resolves around Sep 14, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the MSFT stock price at a specific time, as determined by publicly available financial data. Traders will then be paid out based on whether their predictions aligned with the actual outcome. It's important to note that the outcome is determined by objective data, ensuring a fair and transparent resolution process. The market will close before Sep 14, 2026 to allow for final calculations.
Several signals or events could significantly move this market before its resolution date. Major company announcements from Microsoft, such as earnings reports or new product launches, would likely have a substantial impact. Broader economic news, including interest rate changes or shifts in market sentiment, could also influence trader behavior. Unexpected geopolitical events or significant changes in the technology sector could also contribute to price fluctuations. Any news that alters the perceived future prospects of Microsoft’s stock price could lead to shifts in the odds on Opinion.
