Description

This market will resolve to "Up" if the Close price for Micron Technology, Inc. (MU) on July 7, 2026 is higher than the Close price for Micron Technology, Inc. (MU) on the most recent prior trading day. This market will resolve to "Down" if the Close price for Micron Technology, Inc. (MU) on July 7, 2026 is lower than the Close price for Micron Technology, Inc. (MU) on the most recent prior trading day. E.g., ordinarily, a market on Monday would refer to the previous Friday for its most recent closing price, unless that Friday were a market holiday, in which case it would refer to Thursday, or the next most recent trading day. If the two specified closing prices are exactly equal, this market will resolve 50-50. Closing prices will be used exactly as published by Pyth, without rounding. If Micron Technology, Inc. (MU) does not trade at all during the regular session, the market will resolve 50-50. For a standard full trading session, the closing price refers to the Pyth "Close" value of the 1-minute candle corresponding to the final minute of regular trading hours on the primary exchange. If either of the relevant days has no valid Pyth Close value for the 1-minute candle corresponding to the end of regular trading hours on the primary exchange, the market will use the last valid Pyth price achieved during the regular trading hours of the primary exchange as the effective closing price. If no valid Pyth price exists for that trading day due to a system outage, data failure, or other technical disruption, the official closing price published by the primary exchange on which the listed security trades will be used to determine the closing price for that day. Only prices achieved during the regular trading hours of the primary exchange on which the listed security trades (typically 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM ET) will be considered. In the event of a stock split, reverse stock split, or similar corporate action affecting the listed security during the listed time frame, this market will resolve based on split-adjusted prices as displayed on Pyth. The resolution source for this market will be Pyth, specifically the "Close" values for the relevant 1-minute candle available at https://pythdata.app/explore/Equity.US.MU%2FUSD. Historical 1-minute candles may be accessed by appending a Unix timestamp (seconds) to the Pyth chart URL using the "t=" parameter. Any timestamp within the listed market time frame may be used to view the relevant candle data (e.g., https://pythdata.app/explore/Equity.US.MU%2FUSD?t=1773432000).

Frequently asked questions

On Polymarket, the Micron stock direction market dashboard tracks real-time odds and historical price movements for whether MU stock will close higher or lower on July 7. The interface displays current implied probabilities for each outcome, allowing traders to monitor how market sentiment shifts as new information emerges. You can view trading activity, liquidity depth, and the cumulative volume traded on this market. The dashboard updates continuously during market hours, giving you a live snapshot of how participants are pricing the likelihood of an up or down move in Micron's share price on that specific date.

Prediction market odds reflect real-money bets from traders who profit or lose based on accuracy, creating strong incentives for honest price discovery. Analyst forecasts, by contrast, often carry institutional biases and are published infrequently. This market aggregates dispersed information from many participants, whereas analyst consensus typically represents a smaller group's views. Historical research shows prediction markets often outperform traditional analyst estimates on binary events like stock direction. The odds here represent a dynamic, continuously updated consensus rather than a static report, making them particularly responsive to breaking news or earnings surprises affecting Micron.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that allows traders to buy or sell shares representing each outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders purchase shares at prices that reflect the current probability; buying "Up" shares at a lower price means the market assigns lower odds to that outcome, and vice versa. The price of each outcome always sums to $1.00, so if "Up" trades at $0.92, "Down" trades at $0.08. As traders enter and exit positions, the price adjusts automatically, ensuring the market continuously reprices based on new information and shifting sentiment about Micron's stock movement on July 7.

This market resolves around Jul 7, 2026, once Micron's closing stock price for that trading day is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by whether MU closes higher or lower than its opening price on July 7. No special conditions or threshold movements are required; a simple directional comparison settles the market. Resolution typically occurs within hours of market close, once the final price is confirmed through standard financial data providers. Traders holding winning shares receive their payout automatically once the outcome is finalized.

Micron's earnings announcements, guidance revisions, or management commentary can significantly shift odds in either direction. Broader semiconductor industry trends, chip demand forecasts, and geopolitical developments affecting supply chains also influence trader positioning. Macroeconomic data—interest rate decisions, inflation reports, or recession signals—often move the entire tech sector and thus Micron's stock. Competitive announcements from rivals like Samsung or SK Hynix, regulatory actions, or major customer wins or losses can trigger sharp repricing. Intraday momentum and options expiration activity on July 7 itself may create volatility near the close, so watch for unusual trading volume or news breaks in the final hours before settlement.
