Description

This market will resolve to "Up" if the Close price for Meta Platforms, Inc. (META) on June 26, 2026 is higher than the Close price for Meta Platforms, Inc. (META) on the most recent prior trading day. This market will resolve to "Down" if the Close price for Meta Platforms, Inc. (META) on June 26, 2026 is lower than the Close price for Meta Platforms, Inc. (META) on the most recent prior trading day. E.g., ordinarily, a market on Monday would refer to the previous Friday for its most recent closing price, unless that Friday were a market holiday, in which case it would refer to Thursday, or the next most recent trading day. If the two specified closing prices are exactly equal, this market will resolve 50-50. Closing prices will be used exactly as published by Pyth, without rounding. If Meta Platforms, Inc. (META) does not trade at all during the regular session, the market will resolve 50-50. For a standard full trading session, the closing price refers to the Pyth "Close" value of the 1-minute candle corresponding to the final minute of regular trading hours on the primary exchange. If either of the relevant days has no valid Pyth Close value for the 1-minute candle corresponding to the end of regular trading hours on the primary exchange, the market will use the last valid Pyth price achieved during the regular trading hours of the primary exchange as the effective closing price. If no valid Pyth price exists for that trading day due to a system outage, data failure, or other technical disruption, the official closing price published by the primary exchange on which the listed security trades will be used to determine the closing price for that day. Only prices achieved during the regular trading hours of the primary exchange on which the listed security trades (typically 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM ET) will be considered. In the event of a stock split, reverse stock split, or similar corporate action affecting the listed security during the listed time frame, this market will resolve based on split-adjusted prices as displayed on Pyth. The resolution source for this market will be Pyth, specifically the "Close" values for the relevant 1-minute candle available at https://pythdata.app/explore/Equity.US.META%2FUSD. Historical 1-minute candles may be accessed by appending a Unix timestamp (seconds) to the Pyth chart URL using the "t=" parameter. Any timestamp within the listed market time frame may be used to view the relevant candle data (e.g., https://pythdata.app/explore/Equity.US.META%2FUSD?t=1773432000).

Frequently asked questions

The Meta stock price movement market dashboard on Polymarket tracks real-time odds and historical price data for whether Meta's stock will close higher or lower on June 26. Traders buy and sell shares representing each outcome, and the current market price reflects the collective probability assigned by participants. The dashboard displays the live odds for both directions, 24-hour trading volume, and order book depth, giving you a transparent view of how the market is pricing Meta's daily price action on that specific date.

Prediction market odds and traditional analyst forecasts operate on different timescales and methodologies. Analysts typically issue longer-term price targets based on fundamental research, while this market aggregates real-time trader sentiment focused on a single day's movement. Prediction markets often react faster to breaking news and earnings surprises, whereas analyst revisions lag by days or weeks. Neither approach is inherently more accurate; they complement each other. Traders use both signals when deciding whether to bet on an up or down outcome, combining market-derived probabilities with published research.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that sets odds based on the ratio of shares held in each outcome pool. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders purchase shares representing "Up" or "Down," and the cost of each share adjusts dynamically as the pool composition changes. The current price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome. Higher trading volume typically narrows the spread between bid and ask prices, making execution more efficient for both buyers and sellers.

This market resolves around Jun 26, 2026, once Meta's closing stock price for that trading day is finalized and verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by comparing the closing price to the previous day's close: if it finishes higher, the "Up" shares pay out; if lower, the "Down" shares pay out. Resolution typically occurs within hours of market close, after official price data is confirmed. Traders holding winning shares receive their payout automatically.

Meta's stock price on June 26 could be influenced by earnings announcements, regulatory news, shifts in advertising demand, AI product launches, or broader tech sector movements. Macroeconomic data releases—inflation reports, interest rate expectations, or employment figures—often drive market-wide sentiment that affects individual stocks. Competitor announcements or changes in user engagement metrics can also trigger repricing. Real-time social media trends and insider trading disclosures may sway short-term trader positioning. Any unexpected corporate news or management commentary released before market close could shift odds significantly in the final hours.
