Parliamentary elections to elect the Landtag of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern are scheduled to take place on September 20, 2026. This market will resolve to “AfD” if AfD wins more valid second votes (Zweitstimme) than SPD in the specified election. This market will resolve to “SPD” if SPD wins more valid second votes (Zweitstimme) than AfD in the specified election. This market will resolve 50-50 if both AfD and SPD receive exactly the same number of valid second votes (Zweitstimme) in the specified election. This market will resolve solely based on the number of valid second votes (Zweitstimme) won by each specified party. Valid second votes will be counted only where the State Returning Officer of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Landeswahlleiter Mecklenburg-Vorpommern) attributes them to the aforementioned parties. Votes attributed to other parties or electoral designations will not count, regardless of electoral cooperation, endorsements, coalition agreements, or subsequent parliamentary-group arrangements. If either party formally merges into a successor party before the election and does not contest separately, this market will resolve 50-50. If the results of this election are not definitively known by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve 50-50. This market will resolve based on the results of this election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as published on the official Mecklenburg-Vorpommern elections page of the Landesamt für innere Verwaltung (www.laiv-mv.de/Wahlen/Landtagswahlen/2026/).

This market often reflects polling averages, but can diverge based on trader sentiment and recent events. If polls show a tight race, expect volatility here. Traders may price in factors beyond raw poll numbers, such as campaign momentum or economic shifts, which can make this market deviate from traditional survey data.
On Polymarket, traders currently set the odds for the AfD vs SPD vote race through continuous bidding. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market reflects collective expectations about voter preferences and campaign momentum, with prices adjusting in real time based on trading volume and new information. As the election approaches, any significant shifts in polling data or public sentiment could lead to rapid changes in these odds.
This market resolves around Jan 1, 2027, with the outcome confirmed once the election results are verifiable from credible public reporting. The final tally of votes for each party will determine which side wins, and the market will close based on official and widely accepted data from the election process.
Between now and Jan 1, 2027, several key signals could influence this market. Major polling updates showing shifts in voter intent will likely cause immediate price reactions. Controversial policy announcements, debates, or gaffes from leading candidates might also sway trader sentiment. Additionally, regional voting trends or turnout forecasts could impact expectations, especially if one party is projected to gain or lose support in key districts.
