On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each candidate's probability of winning. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market price adjusts dynamically based on supply and demand, reflecting the collective wisdom of traders. Higher demand for shares of a particular candidate drives up the price, increasing their implied probability, while increased selling pressure lowers the price and reduces their probability.
This market resolves around Oct 28, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official results announced by the Latrobe City Council following the mayoral election. The candidate who receives the most votes, as certified by the official election authorities, will be declared the winner, and shares in that candidate’s outcome will pay out 1 USDC each. All other shares will become worthless upon resolution of this market.
Several signals or events could significantly impact this market before Oct 28, 2026. Major endorsements from influential figures, significant fundraising announcements, or unexpected controversies involving candidates could all shift trader sentiment. Changes in voter registration numbers or the release of new polling data could also influence the market. Additionally, any unforeseen events impacting the local economy or key policy debates could lead to reassessments of candidate viability and cause substantial movement in the odds for the Latrobe mayoral race.
