This market will resolve to “Yes” if Katie Zacharia ceases to be White House Press Secretary for any period of time between market creation and the specified date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. An announcement of Katie Zacharia's resignation/removal by this market's end date will immediately resolve this market to "Yes", regardless of when the announced resignation/removal goes into effect. If Katie Zacharia has not yet taken office as White House Press Secretary at market creation, this market will also resolve to "Yes" if, by the specified date, 11:59 PM ET, her appointment is withdrawn or it is announced that she will not take the position. The resolution source for this market will be official information from Katie Zacharia and the U.S. government; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Currently, prediction market odds offer a distinct perspective compared to traditional polling data on the timing of a Press Secretary replacement. While polls capture a snapshot of public opinion, this market reflects what individuals are willing to put their money on, potentially revealing deeper convictions or access to inside information. Any significant discrepancies between the two could indicate that traders anticipate events not fully captured by current polling averages, or that the market is reacting to information not yet reflected in public opinion.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in different outcomes, and the price of each share reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movements are driven by supply and demand – if more people believe Katie Zacharia will be replaced by a certain date, the price of shares representing that outcome will increase, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust probabilities accordingly.
This market resolves around Jan 1, 2027, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, resolution will depend on an official announcement regarding Katie Zacharia’s departure from the role of Press Secretary. The market will determine whether she has left her position by the resolution date, based on publicly available and verifiable information. No further details are available regarding the specific criteria beyond this publicly verifiable confirmation.
Several signals could significantly impact this market. Any public statements from Katie Zacharia regarding her future plans, or reports of internal disagreements within the administration, could cause shifts in the odds. Unexpected political developments or major policy changes could also influence trader sentiment. Furthermore, any credible reporting suggesting a potential replacement candidate being vetted would likely move this market, as would any official announcements regarding a staffing change within the White House press office.
