This event tracks the social media activity of the World Economic Forum's official X account during a one-week period in July 2026. The measurement includes all original posts, quote posts, and reposts published by @wef, excluding replies, and will be determined using X's API which polls every five minutes.
Resolution is determined by counting all posts, quote posts, and reposts from @wef (excluding replies) during the period from Thursday, July 9, 2026 at 12:00 PM ET through Thursday, July 16, 2026 at 12:00 PM ET. The X API, which queries every five minutes, serves as the authoritative measurement source. Deleted posts are included in the count if captured by the API before deletion. The measurement encompasses six distinct outcome ranges: below 15, between 15–24, between 25–34, between 35–49, between 50–74, and above 74. A third-party tracking page is available for informational purposes only; any discrepancies between that page and the X API determination will be resolved according to the X API methodology. All range boundaries are inclusive.
Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional analyst forecasts because they reflect real-money incentives and crowdsourced expectations rather than institutional models. Traders in this market are directly rewarded for accuracy, which can surface insights that formal forecasts miss—particularly around social media behavior, where volume and timing patterns shift rapidly. Comparing the current odds to published analyst expectations on WEF communication strategy can reveal whether the market is pricing in factors analysts have overlooked or discounted.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell shares representing different outcome ranges. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each share reflects the probability traders assign to a specific number of WEF posts on X within the week. As new information emerges or trading interest shifts, the price adjusts in real time, ensuring the market continuously reflects the latest consensus view of how active the organization will be on the platform.
This market resolves around Jul 16, 2026, at which point the final count of WEF posts on X during the specified week is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the actual number of posts published by the official WEF account, with no ambiguity around what qualifies as a countable post. Once the week closes and the data is confirmed, traders holding shares aligned with the true outcome receive their payouts.
Major WEF announcements, scheduled press releases, or breaking news tied to the organization's priorities could prompt increased social media activity and shift trader expectations upward. Conversely, operational delays, communication blackouts, or strategic shifts toward other channels might reduce posting frequency. Real-time tracking of WEF's X account activity throughout the week provides direct signals; traders monitoring post timestamps and content themes can adjust positions as patterns emerge, making this market responsive to both planned and spontaneous developments.
