This event tracks the social media activity of the World Economic Forum's official X account during a one-week period in early July 2026. The measurement includes original posts, quote posts, and reposts while excluding replies, providing insight into the organization's communication frequency on the platform.
Resolution is determined by counting all posts, quote posts, and reposts from @wef on X (excluding replies) during the period from Thursday, July 2, 2026 at 12:00 PM ET through Thursday, July 9, 2026 at 12:00 PM ET. The count is obtained via the X API, which is queried every five minutes. Deleted posts are included in the count if they are captured by the API before deletion. The measurement encompasses six distinct outcome ranges: below 15, between 15-24, between 25-34, between 35-49, between 50-74, and above 74. All range boundaries are inclusive. While a third-party Post Counter tracking page is available for informational purposes to help users monitor activity, it serves only as a reference tool. In the event of any discrepancy between the Post Counter and Kalshi's official determination using the X API methodology, the X API result takes precedence for resolution purposes.
Prediction market odds reflect real-money incentives and collective intelligence from traders, whereas analyst forecasts typically rely on historical models and expert judgment. This market aggregates dispersed information from participants betting on WEF X activity, often capturing signals that traditional analysts may miss or weight differently. When odds diverge significantly from published forecasts, it often signals that traders have identified new data or shifted their expectations about institutional social media behavior during the forecast period.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through continuous order-book matching, where traders buy and sell shares representing yes or no outcomes. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the cumulative bids and asks from participants, with tighter spreads indicating higher confidence and liquidity. As new information emerges about WEF communication patterns or broader institutional social media trends, traders adjust their positions, moving the market price to reflect updated probability estimates.
This market resolves around Jul 9, 2026, at which point the final count of WEF posts on X during the specified week is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the actual number of posts published by official World Economic Forum accounts, confirmed once the event window closes and data is publicly available. Traders should monitor the exact resolution criteria on the platform to ensure clarity on which accounts and post types are included in the final tally.
Major WEF announcements, scheduled speaking engagements, or global economic crises could prompt increased social media activity and shift market odds upward. Conversely, reduced institutional engagement or competing news cycles might suppress posting frequency. Real-time monitoring of WEF's X account, leadership statements, and broader geopolitical developments can provide early signals of changing communication strategies. Traders should also watch for platform policy changes on X that might affect posting patterns or reach.
