Description

This event tracks the social media activity of the International Monetary Fund's official X account (@IMFNews) during a one-week period in July 2026. The market measures the volume of posts, quote posts, and reposts published by the account, excluding replies, to determine which activity bracket the IMF falls into.

Kalshi

Resolution is determined by counting all posts, quote posts, and reposts from @IMFNews between Thursday, July 16, 2026 at 12:00 PM ET and Thursday, July 23, 2026 at 12:00 PM ET, excluding replies. The count is obtained via the X API, which is queried every five minutes. Deleted posts are included in the count if captured by the API before deletion. The X API methodology serves as the authoritative resolution source; a third-party tracking page is provided for informational purposes only and does not override API-based determination. All range boundaries are inclusive.

Frequently asked questions

The IMF social media activity market dashboard on Kalshi tracks real-time odds and trading activity for the IMF social media activity market. This venue displays current market pricing, historical price movements, and 24-hour volume of $1,955 to help traders monitor sentiment around International Monetary Fund posting frequency on X. The dashboard updates continuously as new trades execute, giving you a live snapshot of how the prediction community expects IMF social media engagement to unfold during the tracked week.

Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional analyst forecasts because they reflect real-money incentives and crowdsourced expectations rather than institutional models. In this market, traders are pricing in their collective view of IMF posting behavior based on historical patterns, seasonal trends, and recent institutional communication patterns. While analysts may rely on econometric models or policy calendars, prediction markets aggregate distributed knowledge from participants who face direct financial consequences for accuracy, sometimes revealing signals that formal forecasts miss.

On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares corresponding to different outcome ranges. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each share represents a claim on a specific number of IMF posts during the week, and the market price reflects the aggregate probability assigned by active traders. As new information emerges or trading interest shifts, prices adjust in real time, allowing you to enter or exit positions at the prevailing bid-ask spread.

This market resolves around Jul 23, 2026, at which point the final count of IMF posts on X during the tracked week is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the actual number of posts published by the official IMF account during the specified period. Once the week concludes and the post count is confirmed, the market settles according to which outcome range the final tally falls into, and traders' positions are paid out accordingly.

Several factors could shift odds in this market. Major IMF announcements, policy meetings, or crisis responses may prompt increased social media communication. Changes in IMF leadership or communication strategy could alter posting frequency. Economic data releases, geopolitical events, or shifts in global financial conditions might trigger urgent messaging. Additionally, seasonal patterns in institutional communication and real-time observation of actual posting activity during the week will influence trader expectations and drive price movement as resolution approaches.
