This market tracks whether the price of the HYPE cryptocurrency will dip below various thresholds during August 2026. It examines price behavior over a defined period, focusing on whether temporary drops occur rather than sustained pricing levels. The outcome depends on real-time price fluctuations throughout the entire month.
These markets resolve to Yes if, at any point between issuance and 11:59 PM ET on August 31, 2026, the minute-by-minute price of HYPE falls below the specified threshold. Settlement evaluates every minute's price using CF HYPEUSD_RTI data. For each minute, the top and bottom 20% of all recorded prices during the market period are excluded, and the remaining values are averaged to determine the settlement value for that minute. If this trimmed mean falls below the threshold for any minute, the market resolves to Yes. The measurement period begins at issuance and ends at the specified time. If CF Benchmarks data is unavailable or incomplete at expiration, all affected markets resolve to No. For cryptocurrencies with multiple versions, the Exchange specifies the exact version or ticker being tracked.
Compared to traditional spot price forecasts from analysts or polls, prediction market odds offer a dynamic, crowd-sourced outlook shaped by real trading activity. While analysts might publish target levels or ranges, this market distills trader confidence into a probability curve that updates continuously. The current implied chance of a significant drop reflects aggregated bets rather than a single expert view, often diverging from poll averages when new information emerges.
This market resolves around Sep 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Traders will look to official token metrics and reputable data sources to validate the final August closing price, determining whether the contracts settle for a drop or no-drop scenario. The exact cutoff and verification process follow Kalshi's standard rules for crypto-price events.
Key signals include major exchange announcements, tokenomics updates, regulatory news, or large-scale investor moves affecting HYPE's valuation. Positive or negative sentiment from influential community leaders, wallet inflows or outflows, and macro trends in the broader crypto market can also shift probabilities. Any surprise event that alters the perceived likelihood of a substantial price decline before Sep 1, 2026 may cause rapid repricing in this market.
