This event tracks whether Ethereum's price dips below various thresholds during August 2026. It examines the volatility of Ethereum by checking if, at any point in the specified timeframe, the price falls under set levels, providing insight into potential market downturns for the cryptocurrency.
The event evaluates multiple price thresholds for Ethereum throughout the month of August 2026. For each threshold, the market resolves to 'Yes' if Ethereum's price ever falls below the specified level at any minute during the period from market issuance through August 31, 2026, at 11:59 PM ET. Prices are assessed using minute-by-minute data from CF ETHUSD_RTI, with a trimmed mean calculation employed to mitigate the impact of extreme price spikes or drops. Specifically, the top 20% and bottom 20% of the cumulative dataset are excluded before averaging the remaining values for each minute. If this trimmed mean for any single minute falls below the threshold, the corresponding market resolves to 'Yes'. The measurement period commences at market issuance and concludes at the specified end time. Should CF Benchmarks data be unavailable or incomplete at expiration, the market resolves to 'No'. The exchange will clarify which version or ticker of Ethereum is being tracked if multiple versions exist.
Several signals could shift this market before Sep 1, 2026. Major crypto market updates—such as regulatory announcements, large institutional trades, or macroeconomic shifts—affect ETH’s price volatility and may alter expectations for August’s low. Positive developments like protocol upgrades or successful ETF approvals could boost confidence, narrowing the perceived chance of deep dips. Conversely, security breaches, exchange outages, or broad market sell-offs may increase bearish sentiment. Technical indicators, like key support level tests, also influence trader behavior. Monitoring news feeds, on-chain metrics, and macro calendars helps anticipate moves in this market.
