This event tracks whether the CAC 40, France's primary stock market index representing the 40 largest companies listed on Euronext Paris, will reach various price levels during the final two weeks of June 2026. The CAC 40 is a key indicator of economic health and investor confidence in the French and broader European markets.
Resolution is based on the CAC 40 (CAC40) as reported by Trading View, using the index's natively published level in its own currency (euros) and units without conversion. For each price threshold, resolution occurs if the index reaches or exceeds that level at any single point during June 18–30, 2026; sustained levels are not required. A single intraday touch of the threshold is sufficient for Yes resolution. Index levels are evaluated to two decimal places. Post-expiration revisions to the underlying data are not considered. If no data is available by the Expiration Date for the specified period, all outcomes except "No data" or "None" resolve to No.
Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional analyst price targets because they aggregate real-money bets from a diverse crowd rather than relying on a single research team's model. Traders in this market incorporate forward-looking sentiment, earnings expectations, and macroeconomic risks that may not be fully reflected in published forecasts. When consensus among market participants shifts—say, following ECB policy signals or corporate earnings surprises—odds can move faster than analyst revisions. Comparing the two reveals where the crowd sees upside or downside relative to the consensus view, making it a useful cross-check for your own outlook on the index's trajectory.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where buyers and sellers post bids and offers on the CAC 40's June 2026 level. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price you see reflects the last executed trade, while the spread between the best bid and ask shows the current liquidity gap. As new information arrives—earnings reports, inflation data, geopolitical developments—traders adjust their orders, and the market price adjusts accordingly. Your position's value fluctuates with each trade, and you can exit at any time by matching an existing order or posting your own.
This market resolves around Jul 1, 2026, at which point the final CAC 40 level is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the index's official closing value on or near that date, confirmed once the event is observable from established financial data providers. Until resolution, your position remains open and can be traded or held. After the deadline passes and the index level is locked in, payouts are distributed to holders of the winning outcome based on the verified result.
Major catalysts include European Central Bank policy decisions, French and eurozone inflation or employment data, corporate earnings from CAC 40 constituents, and geopolitical developments affecting risk appetite. Banking sector stability, energy prices, and currency movements versus the dollar also influence the index. Political events in France or broader EU policy shifts can trigger sharp repricing. Traders monitor forward guidance from ECB officials, US Federal Reserve actions, and global growth signals, as these reshape expectations for French equities. Unexpected economic shocks or changes in market sentiment toward European assets will likely drive the largest moves in this market.
