Description

This market will resolve to "Yes" if the official closing price for Alphabet Inc. (GOOGL) on June 17 is higher than the listed price. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No." If the final session is shortened (for example, due to a market-holiday schedule), the official closing price published for that shortened session will still be used for resolution. If no official closing price is published for that session (for example, due to a trading halt into the close, system issue, delisting, or other disruption), the market will use the last valid on-exchange trade price of the regular session as the effective closing price. In the event of a stock split, reverse stock split, or similar corporate action affecting the listed company during the listed time frame, this market will resolve based on split-adjusted prices as displayed on Yahoo Finance. The target price will be adjusted proportionally to reflect any stock splits. Resolution will be based on the historical price data as shown on Yahoo Finance after any adjustments have been applied. The resolution source for this market is Yahoo Finance, specifically the Alphabet Inc. (GOOGL) "Close" prices available at https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/GOOGL/history, published under "Historical Prices."

Frequently asked questions

The dashboard for the Google stock price market on Polymarket displays real-time odds reflecting whether GOOGL will close above a specified price level on June 17. Traders can monitor the current implied probability, historical price movements, and recent trading activity. The interface shows order book depth and allows participants to view volume trends and position changes as market sentiment evolves. This live data helps traders assess consensus expectations around Google's stock performance on the settlement date.

Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional analyst price targets because they reflect real-money incentives and crowd wisdom rather than institutional research alone. While Wall Street analysts publish formal forecasts based on fundamental analysis, this market aggregates the beliefs of traders who profit or lose based on actual outcomes. Comparing the implied probability here to consensus analyst sentiment can reveal where the market is pricing in different risk factors, earnings surprises, or macroeconomic shifts that may not yet be fully reflected in published reports.

On Polymarket, traders set prices through an automated market maker mechanism where buying and selling pressure directly moves the odds. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The contract trades as a binary outcome—either GOOGL closes above the threshold or it does not—with prices ranging from near zero to near one dollar. Liquidity providers and speculators continuously adjust positions, and the market price at any moment reflects the collective assessment of that outcome's likelihood. Tighter spreads typically indicate higher confidence and deeper liquidity.

This market resolves around Jun 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution hinges on whether Google's closing stock price on that date meets or exceeds the specified threshold. Traders should monitor official market data and company announcements leading up to settlement. Early resolution is possible if the threshold becomes mathematically impossible to reach before the end date.

Quarterly earnings reports, product announcements, regulatory developments, and broader tech sector movements can all shift trader expectations around Google's stock price. Macroeconomic data—inflation reports, interest rate decisions, and recession signals—typically influence large-cap tech valuations. Competitive pressures, AI breakthroughs, or antitrust news may also trigger sharp repricing. Intraday volatility and options expiration dates can create momentum, while insider transactions or analyst downgrades often catalyze rapid position adjustments in this market.
