Description

This market will resolve to "Yes" if the official closing price for Alphabet Inc. (GOOGL) on July 1 is higher than the listed price. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No." If the final session is shortened (for example, due to a market-holiday schedule), the official closing price published for that shortened session will still be used for resolution. If no official closing price is published for that session (for example, due to a trading halt into the close, system issue, delisting, or other disruption), the market will use the last valid on-exchange trade price of the regular session as the effective closing price. In the event of a stock split, reverse stock split, or similar corporate action affecting the listed company during the listed time frame, this market will resolve based on split-adjusted prices as displayed on Yahoo Finance. The target price will be adjusted proportionally to reflect any stock splits. Resolution will be based on the historical price data as shown on Yahoo Finance after any adjustments have been applied. The resolution source for this market is Yahoo Finance, specifically the Alphabet Inc. (GOOGL) "Close" prices available at https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/GOOGL/history, published under "Historical Prices."

Frequently asked questions

The Google stock price market dashboard on Polymarket tracks real-time odds and historical price movements for whether GOOGL will close above a specified threshold on July 1. Traders here are pricing their collective belief about Google's closing price on that date. The interface displays current market odds, 24-hour trading volume, and order-book depth, giving participants a live snapshot of how the prediction market is valuing this outcome relative to the underlying stock's expected performance.

Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional analyst price targets because they reflect real-money incentives and crowd sentiment rather than institutional research alone. Analysts typically publish quarterly earnings estimates and 12-month price targets, while this market concentrates on a single binary outcome on a fixed date. When analyst consensus shifts or earnings surprises occur, prediction market odds can reprice faster than formal forecast revisions, making them a useful cross-check against consensus views on near-term stock direction.

On Polymarket, traders set the odds by buying and selling shares that represent "yes" or "no" outcomes. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market price reflects the equilibrium between buyers and sellers, with each share worth $0.00 to $1.00 depending on perceived probability. As new information about Google's business, earnings, or broader market conditions emerges, traders adjust their positions, moving the odds up or down in real time. Liquidity and trading volume influence how quickly prices respond to news.

This market resolves around Jul 1, 2026, once Google's official closing price on July 1 is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is binary: either GOOGL closes above the specified price level, or it does not. No ambiguity exists in the resolution because stock prices are publicly reported and independently confirmed by multiple financial data providers. Traders holding the winning outcome receive their payout shortly after market close and official price confirmation.

Quarterly earnings announcements, product launches, regulatory developments, and macroeconomic shifts can all influence Google's stock price and thus this market's odds. Major tech sector news, changes in advertising demand, AI competition, or antitrust proceedings may trigger repricing. Broader market volatility, interest rate decisions, and shifts in investor sentiment toward mega-cap tech stocks also matter. Traders monitor these catalysts closely and adjust positions ahead of expected announcements, causing odds to drift as the July 1 resolution date approaches.
