Description

This market will resolve to "Up" if the XAU/USDT price at the end of the time range specified in the title is greater than the price at the beginning of that range. It will resolve to "Down" if the XAU/USDT price at the end of the time range is lower than the price at the beginning of that range. If the two prices are exactly equal, the market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is Chainlink, specifically the XAU/USDT data stream available at https://data.chain.link/streams/xau-usdt-markpriceindex-datalink The resolution source uses the index price (field i) from Binance's USDS-Margined Futures Mark Price Stream for All Markets (!markPrice@arr), denominated in the quote currency. This market is based solely on the price reported by the Chainlink XAU/USDT data stream, not on other sources or futures markets. If Chainlink data is unavailable or otherwise unusable for resolution, the market will resolve based on a consensus of reliable sources. 2026-11-06T16:00:00Z

Frequently asked questions

On Predict, the dashboard for the gold price movement market displays the current implied probabilities for gold increasing or decreasing in value during the specified timeframe. It also provides a price history chart showing how these probabilities have shifted over time, along with the 24-hour trading volume. Generally, prediction market odds reflect the collective wisdom of traders, often diverging from traditional analyst forecasts. While analysts may offer specific price targets based on fundamental or technical analysis, this market represents a probabilistic assessment of whether the price will simply go up or down within a short window. It’s common to see discrepancies, as markets incorporate a wider range of information and are incentivized to be accurate. This difference highlights how traders weigh various factors, potentially including information not yet reflected in standard financial models.

On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about the outcome. The price of these contracts directly reflects the implied probability of gold increasing or decreasing in value. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market dynamically adjusts based on supply and demand; increased buying pressure on the 'up' contract raises its price, indicating a higher perceived chance of price increase, and vice versa. This creates a real-time assessment of expectations.

This market resolves around Nov 6, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the resolution will be based on the change in the spot price of gold between 11:00 AM ET and 11:15 AM ET on November 6th. If the price is higher at 11:15 AM ET than at 11:00 AM ET, the 'up' outcome will be considered correct; otherwise, the 'down' outcome will prevail. The final price will be sourced from established financial data providers.

Several factors could significantly influence this market. Unexpected economic data releases, such as inflation figures or employment reports, often impact gold prices. Geopolitical events, including escalating tensions or major policy announcements, can also drive investment towards gold as a safe-haven asset. Furthermore, shifts in interest rate expectations, influenced by central bank statements or economic forecasts, can affect the attractiveness of gold relative to other investments. Any significant news related to major gold-holding nations or large institutional investors could also move this market.
