Description

This market will resolve to "Up" if the XAU/USDT price at the end of the time range specified in the title is greater than the price at the beginning of that range. It will resolve to "Down" if the XAU/USDT price at the end of the time range is lower than the price at the beginning of that range. If the two prices are exactly equal, the market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is Chainlink, specifically the XAU/USDT data stream available at https://data.chain.link/streams/xau-usdt-markpriceindex-datalink The resolution source uses the index price (field i) from Binance's USDS-Margined Futures Mark Price Stream for All Markets (!markPrice@arr), denominated in the quote currency. This market is based solely on the price reported by the Chainlink XAU/USDT data stream, not on other sources or futures markets. If Chainlink data is unavailable or otherwise unusable for resolution, the market will resolve based on a consensus of reliable sources. 2026-11-04T11:15:00Z

Frequently asked questions

On Predict, the dashboard for the gold price movement market tracks the current implied probabilities of gold increasing or decreasing in value during the specified timeframe. You'll find a real-time display of the odds, along with a price history chart showing how those probabilities have shifted over time. The dashboard also shows the 24-hour trading volume, currently at $0, and the total volume traded to date, which is $0. This information provides a clear picture of how traders are assessing the likely direction of the gold price.

Currently, prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than traditional analyst forecasts. While analysts may offer specific price targets based on economic models, this market represents the collective judgment of individuals putting their capital at risk. Discrepancies can arise from differing interpretations of data, the inclusion of non-public information by market participants, or simply a varying degree of confidence in economic projections. It’s common to see this market adjust rapidly to new information, potentially outpacing the revisions seen in standard analyst reports.

On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about whether the gold price will move up or down. The price of these contracts fluctuates based on supply and demand, creating the implied probabilities you see on the dashboard. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders are incentivized to provide accurate predictions, as profitable trades are rewarded, and incorrect ones result in losses. This dynamic process aims to reflect the most up-to-date collective intelligence on the potential gold price movement.

This market resolves around Nov 4, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the resolution will be based on the change in the gold price during the 6:15AM-6:30AM ET window on November 4th. The direction of the price movement—whether it increases or decreases—will determine which outcome is declared the winner. The platform will utilize established financial data sources to verify the final price and determine the winning side of this market.

Several factors could significantly influence this market before its resolution. Unexpected economic data releases, such as inflation figures or employment reports, often impact gold prices. Geopolitical events, including shifts in international relations or unexpected crises, can also drive investment towards gold as a safe-haven asset. Furthermore, changes in interest rate expectations set by central banks, particularly the Federal Reserve, can affect the attractiveness of gold relative to other investments. Any significant news related to these areas could lead to substantial shifts in trading activity and the odds displayed in this market.
