Description

This market will resolve to "Up" if the XAU/USDT price at the end of the time range specified in the title is greater than the price at the beginning of that range. It will resolve to "Down" if the XAU/USDT price at the end of the time range is lower than the price at the beginning of that range. If the two prices are exactly equal, the market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is Chainlink, specifically the XAU/USDT data stream available at https://data.chain.link/streams/xau-usdt-markpriceindex-datalink The resolution source uses the index price (field i) from Binance's USDS-Margined Futures Mark Price Stream for All Markets (!markPrice@arr), denominated in the quote currency. This market is based solely on the price reported by the Chainlink XAU/USDT data stream, not on other sources or futures markets. If Chainlink data is unavailable or otherwise unusable for resolution, the market will resolve based on a consensus of reliable sources. 2026-11-04T20:45:00Z

Frequently asked questions

On Predict, the dashboard for the gold price movement market tracks the current odds of gold increasing or decreasing in value, along with a price history chart showing how those odds have shifted over time. You’ll also find the 24-hour trading volume, currently at $0, and the total volume traded to date, which is $0. This allows you to quickly assess market sentiment and activity surrounding the anticipated direction of the gold price. The dashboard provides a real-time view of how traders are positioning themselves on this event.

Currently, prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than traditional analyst forecasts. While many analysts may offer price targets for gold, this market allows traders to express their beliefs about the *direction* of price movement—up or down—over a specific timeframe. This can lead to divergences, as prediction markets aggregate the wisdom of the crowd, potentially identifying factors not fully captured in standard financial modeling. It’s common to see this market react quickly to new information, sometimes anticipating shifts in analyst sentiment before they are publicly reported.

On Predict, this market is priced through a simple mechanism: traders buy and sell ‘yes’ and ‘no’ contracts, representing their belief that the gold price will go up or down, respectively. The price of these contracts fluctuates based on supply and demand, creating the odds you see on the dashboard. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders believe gold will rise, the higher the price of the ‘yes’ contract, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing reflects the collective intelligence of the market participants, offering a unique signal about future price expectations.

This market resolves around Nov 4, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the resolution will be based on the change in the gold price between the opening price at 3:45 PM ET on November 4th and the closing price at 4:00 PM ET on the same day. If the closing price is higher than the opening price, the ‘yes’ contracts will pay out. If it’s lower, the ‘no’ contracts will pay out. The exact price data used for verification will be sourced from established financial data providers.

Several factors could significantly move this market before Nov 4, 2026. Unexpected economic data releases, such as inflation figures or employment reports, often influence gold prices. Geopolitical events, including escalating tensions or unexpected political developments, can also drive demand for gold as a safe-haven asset. Additionally, statements from central bank officials regarding monetary policy, particularly concerning interest rates, can impact investor sentiment and, consequently, the price of gold. Any surprise announcements related to major gold-producing countries or significant shifts in global currency markets could also cause volatility.
