Description

This market will resolve to "Up" if the XAU/USDT price at the end of the time range specified in the title is greater than the price at the beginning of that range. It will resolve to "Down" if the XAU/USDT price at the end of the time range is lower than the price at the beginning of that range. If the two prices are exactly equal, the market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is Chainlink, specifically the XAU/USDT data stream available at https://data.chain.link/streams/xau-usdt-markpriceindex-datalink The resolution source uses the index price (field i) from Binance's USDS-Margined Futures Mark Price Stream for All Markets (!markPrice@arr), denominated in the quote currency. This market is based solely on the price reported by the Chainlink XAU/USDT data stream, not on other sources or futures markets. If Chainlink data is unavailable or otherwise unusable for resolution, the market will resolve based on a consensus of reliable sources. 2026-11-05T03:30:00Z

Currently, prediction market odds often offer a different perspective than traditional analyst forecasts. While analysts may provide point estimates or directional opinions, this market aggregates the wisdom of the crowd, revealing the probability that traders assign to various outcomes. It’s common to see discrepancies, particularly when significant uncertainty surrounds the event. This difference can arise from varying information access, biases, or simply different interpretations of the same data. Examining these contrasts can be insightful for anyone following the gold market.

On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about whether the gold price will go up or down. The price of these contracts fluctuates based on supply and demand, directly reflecting the collective forecast of participants. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price represents the probability of the ‘yes’ outcome (gold going up) and is constantly updated as new information becomes available and traders adjust their positions. This dynamic pricing ensures the market remains responsive to changing conditions.

This market resolves around Nov 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the change in the gold price between 10:30 PM ET and 10:45 PM ET on November 4th. A definitive increase or decrease in price during that window will determine the winning outcome. The specific price data used for verification will be sourced from established financial data providers, ensuring a transparent and objective assessment of the result.

Several signals could significantly move this market before resolution. Major economic data releases, such as inflation reports or GDP figures, often impact gold prices. Geopolitical events, including unexpected political developments or escalating international tensions, can also drive demand for gold as a safe-haven asset. Central bank announcements regarding monetary policy, particularly interest rate changes, are closely watched by gold traders. Finally, any surprising news related to major gold-producing countries or significant shifts in investor sentiment could influence the price and, therefore, this market.
