This market will resolve to "Up" if the XAU/USDT price at the end of the time range specified in the title is greater than the price at the beginning of that range. It will resolve to "Down" if the XAU/USDT price at the end of the time range is lower than the price at the beginning of that range. If the two prices are exactly equal, the market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is Chainlink, specifically the XAU/USDT data stream available at https://data.chain.link/streams/xau-usdt-markpriceindex-datalink The resolution source uses the index price (field i) from Binance's USDS-Margined Futures Mark Price Stream for All Markets (!markPrice@arr), denominated in the quote currency. This market is based solely on the price reported by the Chainlink XAU/USDT data stream, not on other sources or futures markets. If Chainlink data is unavailable or otherwise unusable for resolution, the market will resolve based on a consensus of reliable sources. 2026-11-03T08:30:00Z

Currently, prediction market odds reflect a collective assessment of whether the gold price will move up or down. This differs from traditional analyst forecasts, which often rely on fundamental and technical analysis. While analysts may offer specific price targets, this market focuses solely on directional movement. It’s common to see discrepancies between the two, as prediction markets incorporate a wider range of information and benefit from the wisdom of the crowd. The market’s predictive power stems from its ability to aggregate diverse perspectives and react quickly to new information.
On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about the outcome. The price of these contracts directly reflects the probability of gold increasing or decreasing in value. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price fluctuates based on supply and demand, driven by traders’ individual assessments and reactions to news and events. Higher demand for contracts predicting an increase in the gold price will drive up their price, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the most up-to-date collective intelligence.
This market resolves around Nov 3, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the resolution will be based on the change in the spot price of gold between 3:30 AM and 3:45 AM ET on November 3, 2026. If the price increases during that period, the 'Up' outcome will be considered correct; if it decreases or remains unchanged, the 'Down' outcome will be considered correct. The final price will be sourced from established financial data providers to ensure accuracy and transparency.
Several factors could significantly influence this market. Major economic data releases, such as inflation reports or interest rate decisions from central banks, often impact gold prices. Geopolitical events, including political instability or trade disputes, can also drive demand for gold as a safe-haven asset. Unexpected news regarding major gold-producing countries or significant shifts in currency exchange rates could also move the market. Additionally, any surprising announcements related to global economic growth or recessionary fears could alter traders’ expectations and affect the odds in this market.
