This market will resolve to "Up" if the XAU/USDT price at the end of the time range specified in the title is greater than the price at the beginning of that range. It will resolve to "Down" if the XAU/USDT price at the end of the time range is lower than the price at the beginning of that range. If the two prices are exactly equal, the market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is Chainlink, specifically the XAU/USDT data stream available at https://data.chain.link/streams/xau-usdt-markpriceindex-datalink The resolution source uses the index price (field i) from Binance's USDS-Margined Futures Mark Price Stream for All Markets (!markPrice@arr), denominated in the quote currency. This market is based solely on the price reported by the Chainlink XAU/USDT data stream, not on other sources or futures markets. If Chainlink data is unavailable or otherwise unusable for resolution, the market will resolve based on a consensus of reliable sources. 2026-11-02T14:45:00Z

Currently, prediction market odds reflect a collective assessment of whether the gold price will move up or down during the specified timeframe. This differs from traditional analyst forecasts, which are often based on individual models and opinions. While analysts may offer predictions on gold price trends, this market represents a weighted average of many participants’ beliefs, expressed through actual trades. It’s a fascinating comparison to see how the wisdom of the crowd, as reflected in this market, aligns with or diverges from expert opinions on the direction of gold.
On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief in the outcome. The price of these contracts directly reflects the probability of gold increasing or decreasing in value. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the price adjusts dynamically, providing a real-time assessment of market sentiment. The current implied probability is driven by the supply and demand for contracts on each side of the market, offering a unique perspective on potential price movements.
This market resolves around Nov 2, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the resolution will be based on the change in the gold price between 9:45 AM and 10:00 AM ET on November 2nd. If the price is higher at 10:00 AM ET than at 9:45 AM ET, the 'up' outcome will win. Conversely, if the price is lower, the 'down' outcome will win. The precise price data used for verification will be sourced from publicly available financial data feeds.
Several factors could significantly influence this market before Nov 2, 2026. Unexpected economic data releases, such as inflation figures or employment reports, often impact gold prices. Geopolitical events, like shifts in international relations or increased global uncertainty, can also drive demand for gold as a safe-haven asset. Major news regarding central bank policies, particularly concerning interest rates, could also trigger price movements. Finally, any significant shifts in the US dollar’s strength or weakness could affect the gold price, and therefore, this market.
