This market will resolve to "Up" if the XAU/USDT price at the end of the time range specified in the title is greater than the price at the beginning of that range. It will resolve to "Down" if the XAU/USDT price at the end of the time range is lower than the price at the beginning of that range. If the two prices are exactly equal, the market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is Chainlink, specifically the XAU/USDT data stream available at https://data.chain.link/streams/xau-usdt-markpriceindex-datalink The resolution source uses the index price (field i) from Binance's USDS-Margined Futures Mark Price Stream for All Markets (!markPrice@arr), denominated in the quote currency. This market is based solely on the price reported by the Chainlink XAU/USDT data stream, not on other sources or futures markets. If Chainlink data is unavailable or otherwise unusable for resolution, the market will resolve based on a consensus of reliable sources. 2026-11-02T13:15:00Z

Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than traditional analyst forecasts. While analysts may rely on economic models and fundamental analysis, this market aggregates the informed opinions of many individuals, potentially capturing a wider range of factors and anticipating shifts in sentiment more quickly. It's common to see discrepancies between the two, as prediction markets are driven by actual trading behavior rather than stated opinions. This difference can be particularly noticeable when unexpected events occur or when there is significant uncertainty surrounding the gold price.
On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about whether the gold price will move up or down. The price of these contracts fluctuates based on supply and demand, creating an implied probability for each outcome. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current spread between the 'up' and 'down' contracts reflects the level of disagreement among traders. A wider spread suggests greater uncertainty, while a narrower spread indicates a stronger consensus regarding the likely direction of the gold price.
This market resolves around Nov 2, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the change in the gold price during the 8:15AM-8:30AM ET window on November 2nd. Specifically, the market will determine whether the price increased or decreased during that period, and the result will be verified against reliable financial data sources. Traders will then be paid out based on whether their prediction aligned with the actual price movement.
Several factors could significantly impact this market before resolution. Unexpected economic data releases, such as inflation figures or employment reports, often influence gold prices. Geopolitical events, including international conflicts or trade negotiations, can also drive volatility. Furthermore, statements from central bank officials regarding monetary policy, or any surprise announcements related to gold reserves held by major countries, could trigger substantial movement. Any news impacting the US dollar’s strength or weakness is also likely to affect the gold price and, consequently, trading activity in this market.
