Description

This market will resolve to "Up" if the XAU/USDT price at the end of the time range specified in the title is greater than the price at the beginning of that range. It will resolve to "Down" if the XAU/USDT price at the end of the time range is lower than the price at the beginning of that range. If the two prices are exactly equal, the market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is Chainlink, specifically the XAU/USDT data stream available at https://data.chain.link/streams/xau-usdt-markpriceindex-datalink The resolution source uses the index price (field i) from Binance's USDS-Margined Futures Mark Price Stream for All Markets (!markPrice@arr), denominated in the quote currency. This market is based solely on the price reported by the Chainlink XAU/USDT data stream, not on other sources or futures markets. If Chainlink data is unavailable or otherwise unusable for resolution, the market will resolve based on a consensus of reliable sources. 2026-11-02T12:00:00Z

Frequently asked questions

On Predict, the dashboard for the gold price movement market tracks the current implied probabilities of gold increasing or decreasing in value during the specified timeframe. You’ll find a real-time display of the odds, a price history chart showing how the market has priced the event over time, and the 24-hour trading volume, which is currently $308. The total volume traded to date is $308. This information allows traders to gauge market sentiment and make informed decisions about buying or selling shares.

Currently, prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than traditional analyst forecasts. While analysts frequently publish price targets based on fundamental and technical analysis, this market represents the collective wisdom of traders responding to a wider range of information and potential catalysts. It’s common to see discrepancies, as prediction markets can incorporate factors that are difficult for analysts to quantify, such as geopolitical risks or unexpected economic data releases. This difference highlights the unique value of prediction markets as a forward-looking indicator.

On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous auction where traders buy and sell shares representing their beliefs about whether the gold price will go up or down. The price of these shares directly reflects the implied probability of each outcome. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price adjusts dynamically based on supply and demand, meaning that increased buying pressure on the ‘up’ side will raise its price and lower the price of the ‘down’ side, and vice versa. This creates a real-time assessment of the likelihood of each scenario.

This market resolves around Nov 2, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the change in the gold price between 7:00 AM and 7:15 AM ET on November 2nd. A price increase will result in a payout for those who predicted ‘up,’ while a price decrease will favor those who predicted ‘down.’ The precise price change will be sourced from established financial data providers to ensure accuracy and transparency.

Several signals or events could significantly move this market before its resolution. Unexpected economic data releases, such as inflation figures or employment numbers, often impact gold prices. Geopolitical events, including escalating tensions or major policy changes, can also drive volatility. Furthermore, shifts in interest rate expectations, central bank announcements, and major currency fluctuations are all potential catalysts. Any news that alters investor risk appetite or impacts the perceived value of gold as a safe-haven asset could lead to substantial price movement in this market.
