Resolves Nov 2, 2026
Closed: Nov 2, 7:30 AM EST
Predict
This market will resolve to "Up" if the XAU/USDT price at the end of the time range specified in the title is greater than the price at the beginning of that range. It will resolve to "Down" if the XAU/USDT price at the end of the time range is lower than the price at the beginning of that range. If the two prices are exactly equal, the market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is Chainlink, specifically the XAU/USDT data stream available at https://data.chain.link/streams/xau-usdt-markpriceindex-datalink The resolution source uses the index price (field i) from Binance's USDS-Margined Futures Mark Price Stream for All Markets (!markPrice@arr), denominated in the quote currency. This market is based solely on the price reported by the Chainlink XAU/USDT data stream, not on other sources or futures markets. If Chainlink data is unavailable or otherwise unusable for resolution, the market will resolve based on a consensus of reliable sources. 2026-11-02T12:15:00Z

Currently, it’s difficult to draw direct comparisons between the predictions made in this market and traditional analyst forecasts. While analysts often provide price targets for gold, these are typically longer-term projections. This market focuses on a very specific, short-term window – the movement within a 15-minute period. Polls and surveys of financial experts may offer some insight, but these are often based on subjective opinions rather than the real-money conviction expressed by traders participating in this market. It's important to consider the different time horizons and methodologies when comparing these sources of information.
On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about whether the gold price will be up or down during the specified period. The price of these contracts fluctuates based on supply and demand, effectively creating a real-time probability assessment. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current implied probability of gold increasing in price is reflected in the odds displayed on the dashboard, and these odds are constantly updated as new trades are placed. This dynamic pricing allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust expectations.
This market resolves around Nov 2, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the resolution will be determined by comparing the gold price at 7:15 AM ET and 7:30 AM ET on November 2nd. If the price at 7:30 AM ET is higher than at 7:15 AM ET, the ‘Up’ outcome will be considered correct. Conversely, if the price at 7:30 AM ET is lower, the ‘Down’ outcome will be considered correct. The resolution process relies on publicly available financial data to ensure an objective and transparent result.
Several factors could significantly influence this market before it resolves. Unexpected economic data releases, such as inflation figures or employment numbers, often impact gold prices. Geopolitical events, including political instability or major international news, can also drive investor sentiment towards safe-haven assets like gold. Central bank announcements regarding monetary policy, particularly interest rate decisions, are closely watched by the market. Finally, any surprising news related to major gold-producing countries or significant shifts in currency exchange rates could also cause substantial movement in this market.
