This market will resolve to "Up" if the XAU/USDT price at the end of the time range specified in the title is greater than the price at the beginning of that range. It will resolve to "Down" if the XAU/USDT price at the end of the time range is lower than the price at the beginning of that range. If the two prices are exactly equal, the market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is Chainlink, specifically the XAU/USDT data stream available at https://data.chain.link/streams/xau-usdt-markpriceindex-datalink The resolution source uses the index price (field i) from Binance's USDS-Margined Futures Mark Price Stream for All Markets (!markPrice@arr), denominated in the quote currency. This market is based solely on the price reported by the Chainlink XAU/USDT data stream, not on other sources or futures markets. If Chainlink data is unavailable or otherwise unusable for resolution, the market will resolve based on a consensus of reliable sources. 2026-11-02T10:30:00Z

Currently, prediction market odds often reflect a different outlook than traditional analyst forecasts. While analysts may offer point estimates or ranges for gold price movements, this market aggregates the collective wisdom of many traders, representing a probability distribution of potential outcomes. Discrepancies can arise due to differing methodologies, biases, or access to information. If analysts are largely bullish on gold, we might see higher prices on contracts predicting an increase, but the magnitude and shape of the probability curve can still differ significantly from a typical analyst report.
On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about whether the gold price will be up or down during the specified window. The price of these contracts fluctuates based on supply and demand, directly reflecting the collective sentiment of the market participants. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price indicates the implied probability of the outcome, with higher prices suggesting a greater likelihood of that outcome occurring. This dynamic pricing allows for real-time adjustments based on new information and changing perspectives.
This market resolves around Nov 2, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the resolution will be based on the change in the gold price during the 5:30AM-5:45AM ET timeframe on November 2nd. A definitive increase or decrease will be determined by comparing the price at the beginning and end of that period, using a widely recognized and publicly available gold price index. The market will then settle based on whether the price moved up or down.
Several factors could significantly influence this market leading up to Nov 2, 2026. Major economic data releases, such as inflation reports or interest rate decisions from central banks, often impact gold prices. Geopolitical events, including unexpected political instability or shifts in international relations, can also drive demand for gold as a safe-haven asset. Additionally, any significant news related to major gold-producing countries or large institutional investors could sway trader sentiment and move the market. Unexpected currency fluctuations and shifts in bond yields are other potential catalysts.
