This market will resolve to "Up" if the XAU/USDT price at the end of the time range specified in the title is greater than the price at the beginning of that range. It will resolve to "Down" if the XAU/USDT price at the end of the time range is lower than the price at the beginning of that range. If the two prices are exactly equal, the market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is Chainlink, specifically the XAU/USDT data stream available at https://data.chain.link/streams/xau-usdt-markpriceindex-datalink The resolution source uses the index price (field i) from Binance's USDS-Margined Futures Mark Price Stream for All Markets (!markPrice@arr), denominated in the quote currency. This market is based solely on the price reported by the Chainlink XAU/USDT data stream, not on other sources or futures markets. If Chainlink data is unavailable or otherwise unusable for resolution, the market will resolve based on a consensus of reliable sources. 2026-11-02T09:15:00Z

Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than traditional analyst forecasts. While analysts often rely on fundamental and technical analysis, this market reflects the collective wisdom of traders who are putting their capital at risk. This can lead to divergences, as the market may incorporate information or anticipate events that analysts haven't fully considered. It’s common to see prediction markets outperform polls or expert predictions, particularly when dealing with uncertain or complex events. However, it's important to remember that both approaches have their strengths and weaknesses.
On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about whether the gold price will move up or down. The price of these contracts fluctuates based on supply and demand, creating the odds you see on the dashboard. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The implied probability of each outcome is derived from the contract prices, reflecting the collective assessment of all participants. The more traders who believe gold will rise, the higher the price of the 'up' contract, and vice versa.
This market resolves around Nov 2, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the change in the gold price during the specified 4:15AM-4:30AM ET window on November 2nd. A clear increase or decrease in price during that period will determine whether the 'up' or 'down' outcome is declared the winner. The exact price change will not be published, only the direction of the movement.
Several factors could significantly move this market before Nov 2, 2026. Unexpected economic data releases, such as inflation figures or employment reports, often impact gold prices. Geopolitical events, including international conflicts or political instability, can also drive demand for gold as a safe-haven asset. Central bank announcements regarding monetary policy, particularly interest rate changes, are closely watched by gold traders. Finally, major news related to global economic growth or currency fluctuations could also influence the direction of the gold price and, consequently, this market.
