This market will resolve to "Up" if the XAU/USDT price at the end of the time range specified in the title is greater than the price at the beginning of that range. It will resolve to "Down" if the XAU/USDT price at the end of the time range is lower than the price at the beginning of that range. If the two prices are exactly equal, the market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is Chainlink, specifically the XAU/USDT data stream available at https://data.chain.link/streams/xau-usdt-markpriceindex-datalink The resolution source uses the index price (field i) from Binance's USDS-Margined Futures Mark Price Stream for All Markets (!markPrice@arr), denominated in the quote currency. This market is based solely on the price reported by the Chainlink XAU/USDT data stream, not on other sources or futures markets. If Chainlink data is unavailable or otherwise unusable for resolution, the market will resolve based on a consensus of reliable sources. 2026-11-02T08:15:00Z

Currently, it’s difficult to draw direct comparisons between the probabilities reflected in this market and traditional analyst forecasts. While analysts often provide price targets or directional predictions for gold, these are typically expressed as point estimates or qualitative assessments. This market, however, aggregates the wisdom of the crowd, expressing predictions as probabilities. It’s important to note that analyst forecasts can be influenced by biases or specific methodologies, whereas this market attempts to represent a more unbiased view of potential outcomes.
On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about whether the gold price will move up or down. The price of these contracts fluctuates based on supply and demand, reflecting the collective predictions of the participants. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price effectively represents the market’s consensus probability of the outcome occurring by the resolution date. Higher demand for the 'up' contract, for example, will drive up its price, indicating a stronger belief in a price increase.
This market resolves around Nov 2, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official price movement of gold during the specified 3:15AM-3:30AM ET timeframe on November 2nd. The direction of the price change – whether it goes up or down – will determine which outcome is considered correct. Traders will be able to see the verified result and the corresponding payouts on Predict following the resolution process.
Several factors could significantly influence this market before Nov 2, 2026. Major economic data releases, such as inflation reports or employment figures, often impact gold prices. Geopolitical events, including unexpected political developments or escalating international tensions, can also drive demand for gold as a safe-haven asset. Central bank announcements regarding monetary policy, particularly interest rate decisions, are closely watched by gold traders. Even unexpected news related to major gold-producing countries could shift sentiment and move this market.
