This market will resolve to "Up" if the official FTSE 100 Index closing price for FTSE 100 (UKX) on Thursday, June 11, 2026 is higher than the official FTSE 100 Index closing price for UKX on the most recent prior trading day. This market will resolve to "Down" if the official FTSE 100 Index closing price for FTSE 100 (UKX) on Thursday, June 11, 2026 is lower than the official FTSE 100 Index closing price for UKX on the most recent prior trading day. E.g., ordinarily, a market on Monday would refer to the previous Friday for its most recent closing price, unless that Friday were a market holiday, in which case it would refer to Thursday, or the next most recent trading day. If the two specified closing prices are exactly equal, this market will resolve 50-50. Note that all figures will be rounded to the nearest cent using standard rounding. If UKX does not trade at all during the regular session, the market will resolve 50-50. If either of the relevant days are shortened (for example, due to a market holiday schedule), the official closing price published by FTSE 100 Index for that shortened session will still be used for resolution. If either of the relevant days have no official closing price (for example, due to a trading halt into the market close, system issue, delisting, or other disruption), the market will use the last valid on-exchange trade price of the regular session as the effective closing price. The resolution source for this market is the Wall Street Journal, specifically the Close values published by the WSJ under "Historical Prices". Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect real-money trader expectations for FTSE 100 direction on June 11, whereas traditional analyst forecasts rely on fundamental models, technical analysis, and macroeconomic outlooks. Markets often incorporate breaking news and sentiment shifts faster than published analyst reports. Comparing the implied probability from Polymarket against consensus views from major financial institutions and equity strategists can reveal whether traders are pricing in different risk scenarios or economic assumptions than the broader analyst community expects.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, the FTSE 100 Up or Down on June 11 event is priced as a binary contract where traders buy or sell shares representing each outcome. The current implied probability reflects the latest trades and order-book depth. Prices fluctuate based on new information about UK economic data, interest rate expectations, and global equity sentiment leading into the June 11 close. Traders can enter or exit positions continuously, with prices settling to either 1.00 or 0.00 depending on whether the index closes higher or lower than the previous day's close.
The market resolves on Jun 11, 2026. Resolution is determined by the official FTSE 100 closing level on June 11 compared to the prior trading day's close. If the index finishes higher, the Up outcome resolves to 1.00; if it closes lower, the Down outcome resolves to 1.00. The exact settlement uses the final official index value published by the London Stock Exchange at market close on that date.
Key catalysts include UK economic data releases such as inflation, employment, and retail sales figures; Bank of England policy signals or rate decisions; global equity market movements, especially in Europe and the US; commodity price swings affecting FTSE constituents; corporate earnings announcements; and geopolitical developments. Currency movements, particularly GBP strength or weakness, can also influence the index. Traders monitor these factors closely to adjust positions ahead of June 11, making the market sensitive to both scheduled economic events and unexpected news flow.
