Intro

This market tracks whether Freddie Mac will complete an initial public offering and, if so, what its market capitalization will be at the closing price on its first trading day. On Polymarket, the leading outcome—that Freddie Mac will not IPO by June 30, 2026—stands at 96.1%, while the probability that Freddie Mac's market cap reaches $300 billion or greater at market close on IPO day is 2.1%. Resolution will be determined by the primary exchange's official listing page or another reliable source if that figure is unavailable. Watch for any official announcements from Freddie Mac or regulatory filings regarding IPO timing before the June 30, 2026 deadline.

Polymarket

This market will resolve based on Freddie Mac's market capitalization at the closing price on its first day of trading. If no IPO occurs by June 30, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "No IPO by June 30, 2026". Market capitalization expresses the monetary value of a company’s outstanding shares, stated in its pricing currency. It is calculated as the number of shares outstanding multiplied by the closing share price on the first trading day. If the relevant value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket. Resolution will be based on the primary exchange’s official listing page. In the event that the relevant figure is not displayed, another reliable source will be used. In the event of an interruption in the course of the normal trading session on Freddie Mac’s first day of trading (e.g., a circuit breaker or half-day), the market will resolve according to the official closing price of the abbreviated session. If no such official closing price is published, the market will resolve according to the next trading day on which an official closing price is published, treating that as the first day of trading for purposes of this market.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect real-time trader conviction and often diverge from traditional analyst estimates. While Wall Street analysts typically publish target valuations based on comparable company multiples and DCF models, prediction markets aggregate dispersed information from thousands of participants with direct financial incentives. Analyst forecasts tend to cluster around consensus ranges, whereas prediction markets can price in tail risks and tail upside that analysts may underweight. Comparing the implied probability of specific market cap brackets on Polymarket to the median analyst target reveals whether traders expect valuations above or below consensus expectations.

The Freddie Mac IPO Closing Market Cap market resolves on Jun 30, 2026. Resolution is determined by Freddie Mac's official market capitalization figure at the close of trading on its IPO day, calculated as the closing stock price multiplied by fully diluted shares outstanding. The outcome is verified against authoritative financial data sources to confirm which market cap bracket the company falls into. Once the IPO closes and final market cap data is published, the winning contract is settled and losing contracts expire worthless.

Key catalysts include regulatory announcements affecting Freddie Mac's capital requirements or operating constraints, mortgage market trends that influence earnings expectations, broader equity market volatility and sector rotation, changes to housing policy or government-sponsored enterprise reform, and Freddie Mac's pre-IPO financial disclosures. Competitor IPO valuations and comparable company multiples in financial services will also shape trader expectations. Macroeconomic data on inflation, interest rates, and housing demand directly impact mortgage origination volumes and profitability forecasts. Finally, market sentiment shifts driven by geopolitical events or credit market stress can reprrice the entire financial sector and move Freddie Mac's expected valuation.
