Intro

This market tracks whether the Federal Reserve will hold interest rates steady at its June 2026 meeting, measured by the upper bound of the target federal funds range. On Polymarket, the leading outcome—no change in rates—stands at 99.3%, with a 0.3% probability assigned to a 25 basis point decrease. Resolution will be determined by the FOMC's official statement following its June 16-17, 2026 meeting, as published on the Federal Reserve's website. Watch for the FOMC's announcement on June 17, 2026, when the committee releases its decision on the target federal funds rate.

Polymarket

The FED interest rates are defined in this market by the upper bound of the target federal funds range. The decisions on the target federal funds range are made by the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meetings. This market will resolve to the amount of basis points the upper bound of the target federal funds rate is changed by versus the level it was prior to the Federal Reserve's June 2026 meeting. If the target federal funds rate is changed to a level not expressed in the displayed options, the change will be rounded up to the nearest 25 and will resolve to the relevant bracket. (e.g. if there's a cut/increase of 12.5 bps it will be considered to be 25 bps) The resolution source for this market is the FOMC’s statement after its meeting scheduled for June 16-17, 2026 according to the official calendar: https://www.federalreserve.gov/monetarypolicy/fomccalendars.htm. The level and change of the target federal funds rate is also published at the official website of the Federal Reserve at https://www.federalreserve.gov/monetarypolicy/openmarket.htm. This market may resolve as soon as the FOMC’s statement for their June meeting with relevant data is issued. If no statement is released by the end date of the next scheduled meeting, this market will resolve to the "No change" bracket.

Prediction market odds on Polymarket for Fed Decision in June typically diverge from traditional polling and analyst forecasts because markets incorporate real-money incentives and continuous price discovery. While polls and economist surveys offer snapshots of expert opinion at discrete moments, prediction markets update dynamically as new economic data, inflation reports, and Fed communications emerge. Market participants who misread Fed intentions face direct financial loss, creating pressure for accuracy. Comparing Polymarket odds to consensus economist forecasts reveals whether traders are pricing in more hawkish or dovish scenarios than the mainstream consensus expects.

The Fed Decision in June market resolves on Jun 17, 2026, following the conclusion of the Federal Reserve's June 2026 policy meeting and official announcement. Resolution is determined by the actual policy decision announced by the Fed, including the target federal funds rate set by the policy committee. Outcomes typically hinge on whether the Fed raises, holds, or cuts rates, and by how much. Traders holding shares in the correct outcome receive payouts based on contract terms, while incorrect positions expire worthless or pay reduced amounts depending on the specific market structure.

Several key catalysts could shift Fed Decision in June odds before Jun 17, 2026. Monthly inflation reports, employment data, and GDP growth figures will shape expectations for rate pressure. Fed communications, including speeches by Chair Powell and other governors, often signal policy direction and can trigger sharp repricing. Geopolitical shocks, financial stability concerns, or unexpected economic weakness could prompt dovish pivots. Treasury yield movements and market volatility also influence trader positioning. Each data release or policy hint creates trading opportunities as Polymarket participants reassess the probability of rate hikes, holds, or cuts, driving volume and price discovery throughout the period.
