Description

This market will resolve to "Yes" if Farsi Island is no longer under Iranian control by the specified date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". "No longer under the control of Iran" means that Iran no longer exercises primary governmental or military control over Farsi Island, and another state, occupying force, or internationally backed authority has established control over the island. Temporary raids, isolated landings, special operations, bombardment, sabotage, naval presence offshore, or temporary disruption of Iranian activity will not qualify on their own. An announcement, threat, or claim that Iran has lost control will not qualify without actual control being established. If control changes pursuant to a negotiated settlement, ceasefire term, surrender, or transfer agreement, this will qualify only once actual control has been established on the island. If control over Farsi Island is contested, unclear, disputed, or not sufficiently established by the resolution date, this will not qualify, and the market will resolve to "No". The primary resolution source will be official statements from the relevant governments and militaries, along with a consensus of credible reporting.

On Polymarket, the Farsi Island control market dashboard tracks real-time odds and trading activity for whether this Iranian territory will change hands by the deadline. The interface displays current market pricing, historical price movements, and trading volume to help traders monitor sentiment around potential shifts in regional control. This dashboard aggregates all bets placed on the outcome, giving you a live snapshot of how the prediction community is pricing the geopolitical scenario. Volume data and price history allow you to identify trends and assess market conviction over time.

Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional analyst forecasts because traders incorporate real-time information, geopolitical developments, and their own risk assessments into pricing. While analysts may issue periodic reports on regional stability and territorial disputes, this market reflects continuous updating by participants who have financial skin in the game. The crowd-sourced nature of prediction markets can sometimes detect shifts in probability faster than formal forecasts, though both approaches have merit. Comparing the two perspectives helps contextualize the market's current view relative to expert opinion.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that converts trader bets into real-time odds. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each outcome has a price between 0 and 1, where higher prices reflect greater perceived likelihood. Traders buy or sell shares corresponding to their belief about whether control will change by the resolution date. The more capital flowing into one outcome, the more its price moves, creating a dynamic equilibrium that reflects aggregate market conviction at any moment.

This market resolves around Sep 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution hinges on whether Farsi Island remains under Iranian control through that date or has transferred to another authority. Traders should monitor official government statements, international news sources, and diplomatic announcements as the deadline approaches. The binary nature of this market means only one outcome will be correct, and payouts are distributed accordingly once the resolution is finalized.

Major geopolitical developments could significantly shift odds in this market. Military actions, diplomatic negotiations, international sanctions, or formal territorial agreements would all trigger price movements as traders reassess the probability. Regional tensions, statements from Iranian officials or rival powers, and United Nations activity could serve as leading indicators. Economic factors affecting the region, changes in international alliances, and media coverage of territorial disputes may also influence trader sentiment and cause the market price to fluctuate substantially before the deadline.
