Description

This market will resolve to "Up" if the Close price for South Korea ETF (EWY) on June 16, 2026 is higher than the Close price for South Korea ETF (EWY) on the most recent prior trading day. This market will resolve to "Down" if the Close price for South Korea ETF (EWY) on June 16, 2026 is lower than the Close price for South Korea ETF (EWY) on the most recent prior trading day. E.g., ordinarily, a market on Monday would refer to the previous Friday for its most recent closing price, unless that Friday were a market holiday, in which case it would refer to Thursday, or the next most recent trading day. If the two specified closing prices are exactly equal, this market will resolve 50-50. Closing prices will be used exactly as published by Pyth, without rounding. If South Korea ETF (EWY) does not trade at all during the regular session, the market will resolve 50-50. For a standard full trading session, the closing price refers to the Pyth "Close" value of the 1-minute candle corresponding to the final minute of regular trading hours on the primary exchange. If either of the relevant days has no valid Pyth Close value for the 1-minute candle corresponding to the end of regular trading hours on the primary exchange, the market will use the last valid Pyth price achieved during the regular trading hours of the primary exchange as the effective closing price. If no valid Pyth price exists for that trading day due to a system outage, data failure, or other technical disruption, the official closing price published by the primary exchange on which the listed security trades will be used to determine the closing price for that day. Only prices achieved during the regular trading hours of the primary exchange on which the listed security trades (typically 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM ET) will be considered. In the event of a stock split, reverse stock split, or similar corporate action affecting the listed security during the listed time frame, this market will resolve based on split-adjusted prices as displayed on Pyth. The resolution source for this market will be Pyth, specifically the "Close" values for the relevant 1-minute candle available at https://pythdata.app/explore/Equity.US.EWY%2FUSD. Historical 1-minute candles may be accessed by appending a Unix timestamp (seconds) to the Pyth chart URL using the "t=" parameter. Any timestamp within the listed market time frame may be used to view the relevant candle data (e.g., https://pythdata.app/explore/Equity.US.EWY%2FUSD?t=1773432000).

Frequently asked questions

On Polymarket, the EWY stock price movement market dashboard tracks real-time odds and historical price data for whether the iShares MSCI Japan ETF will close higher or lower on June 16. The interface displays current probabilities for each outcome, allowing traders to monitor shifting sentiment as new information emerges. You can view order-book depth, recent trade activity, and cumulative volume to understand liquidity and conviction behind each side. This dashboard provides a live window into how the prediction market is pricing directional movement in this Japan-focused equity fund ahead of the resolution date.

Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional analyst forecasts because they reflect real-money incentives and aggregated trader conviction rather than individual opinions. While equity analysts may issue price targets or recommendations based on fundamental research, this market prices the binary outcome—up or down on a specific date—using the collective judgment of participants who have skin in the game. Traders incorporate earnings surprises, macroeconomic data, currency movements, and geopolitical events into their positions. The market-implied probability can serve as a reality check against consensus views, especially when major catalysts are priced differently by Wall Street and prediction market participants.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that sets odds based on the ratio of capital wagered on each outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders buy shares representing "Up" or "Down," and the price of each share fluctuates as the pool of liquidity shifts. When more traders buy "Up" shares, their price rises and the implied probability of an upward move increases. The market operates continuously until resolution, allowing participants to enter, exit, or adjust positions at any time. Prices reflect all available information and trader expectations about EWY's direction on June 16.

This market resolves around Jun 16, 2026, once the trading day closes and EWY's final price is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by comparing the closing price on that date to the previous trading day's close. If EWY finishes higher, the "Up" outcome wins; if it finishes lower, "Down" prevails. Resolution is typically confirmed within hours of market close, and payouts are distributed to winning positions. Traders should monitor official exchange data and financial news sources for confirmation of the final settlement price.

Several catalysts could shift odds significantly before Jun 16, 2026. Earnings reports from major Japanese companies, Bank of Japan policy announcements, and yen exchange-rate movements are primary drivers of EWY sentiment. Broader equity-market volatility, U.S. Treasury yields, and risk-on or risk-off sentiment in global markets also influence Japan-focused ETF flows. Geopolitical developments in Asia, trade policy shifts, and macroeconomic data from Japan or the U.S. can trigger rapid repricing. Traders monitor technical levels, options expiration dates, and index rebalancing events. Any surprise in inflation, employment, or central-bank guidance may prompt sharp position adjustments in this market.
