Description

This market will resolve to "Up" if the Close price for South Korea ETF (EWY) on July 20, 2026 is higher than the Close price for South Korea ETF (EWY) on the most recent prior trading day. This market will resolve to "Down" if the Close price for South Korea ETF (EWY) on July 20, 2026 is lower than the Close price for South Korea ETF (EWY) on the most recent prior trading day. E.g., ordinarily, a market on Monday would refer to the previous Friday for its most recent closing price, unless that Friday were a market holiday, in which case it would refer to Thursday, or the next most recent trading day. If the two specified closing prices are exactly equal, this market will resolve 50-50. Closing prices will be used exactly as published by Pyth, without rounding. If South Korea ETF (EWY) does not trade at all during the regular session, the market will resolve 50-50. For a standard full trading session, the closing price refers to the Pyth "Close" value of the 1-minute candle corresponding to the final minute of regular trading hours on the primary exchange. If either of the relevant days has no valid Pyth Close value for the 1-minute candle corresponding to the end of regular trading hours on the primary exchange, the market will use the last valid Pyth price achieved during the regular trading hours of the primary exchange as the effective closing price. If no valid Pyth price exists for that trading day due to a system outage, data failure, or other technical disruption, the official closing price published by the primary exchange on which the listed security trades will be used to determine the closing price for that day. Only prices achieved during the regular trading hours of the primary exchange on which the listed security trades (typically 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM ET) will be considered. In the event of a stock split, reverse stock split, or similar corporate action affecting the listed security during the listed time frame, this market will resolve based on split-adjusted prices as displayed on Pyth. The resolution source for this market will be Pyth, specifically the "Close" values for the relevant 1-minute candle available at https://pythdata.app/explore/Equity.US.EWY%2FUSD. Historical 1-minute candles may be accessed by appending a Unix timestamp (seconds) to the Pyth chart URL using the "t=" parameter. Any timestamp within the listed market time frame may be used to view the relevant candle data (e.g., https://pythdata.app/explore/Equity.US.EWY%2FUSD?t=1773432000).

Frequently asked questions

The EWY stock price movement market dashboard on Polymarket tracks real-time odds and historical price data for whether EWY will close up or down on July 20. This market aggregates trader positions and displays the current probability assigned to each outcome, along with 24-hour volume of $125 and total volume of $125. The interface shows how market sentiment has shifted over time, allowing traders to monitor momentum and identify turning points. By watching these metrics, participants can gauge conviction levels and compare their own forecasts against the collective prediction reflected in live odds.

Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional analyst forecasts because they reflect real-money incentives rather than consensus opinion. In this market, traders who correctly predict EWY's direction profit directly, creating pressure for odds to converge toward true probabilities. Analyst reports may lag market data or reflect institutional biases, whereas this market prices in breaking news and intraday sentiment shifts instantly. Comparing the current odds to published analyst price targets can reveal where professional forecasters and prediction market participants disagree, offering traders an edge in identifying mispricings.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that sets odds based on the ratio of capital backing each outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders buy shares representing "up" or "down," and the cost of each share adjusts as the pool shifts. Higher demand for one outcome raises its price and implied probability, while lower demand lowers it. This continuous repricing mechanism ensures the market remains liquid and responsive to new information throughout the trading period.

This market resolves around Jul 20, 2026, once the trading window closes and the outcome can be verified. The result is determined by whether EWY closes above or below its opening price on that date, confirmed against credible public financial data sources. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome receive their payout proportional to the final odds, while losing positions expire worthless. Resolution typically occurs within hours of market close, pending final data verification.

EWY price action is sensitive to broad emerging-market sentiment, currency fluctuations, and geopolitical developments affecting the iShares MSCI Taiwan ETF's underlying holdings. Earnings announcements, central bank policy shifts, or trade-related news can trigger sharp repricing. Intraday volatility, sector rotations, and correlation with major indices like the S&P 500 also influence trader positioning. Monitoring economic calendars, Taiwan-specific headlines, and real-time price charts will help traders anticipate momentum shifts and adjust their positions before Jul 20, 2026.
