The event tracks the performance of the EURUSD currency pair at a specific moment, determining whether its opening price exceeds various thresholds. This allows participants to assess the relative strength of the euro against the US dollar at the close of a trading day in 2026. The outcome is based on a single, time-bound snapshot of market data.
All markets resolve based on the EURUSD exchange rate's opening value at 5pm ET on July 31, 2026, as published by Pyth. Each market has a distinct threshold: if the rate is above the specified level (ranging from 1.117 to 1.155), the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. Data is rounded to four decimal places. If Pyth does not publish a value at the exact time, the most recent available value is used. Post-expiration revisions to the underlying data do not affect the resolution.
Compared to traditional analyst forecasts, prediction market odds in this market often reflect a more immediate, crowd-sourced view of market expectations. While analysts may incorporate economic indicators, policy announcements, and historical trends, traders in this market react to real-time data and sentiment. This can lead to differences in projected outcomes, especially ahead of major economic releases or central bank decisions that shift expectations rapidly.
On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where buyers and sellers post bids and asks directly. The displayed probability represents the expected likelihood of the specified outcome, derived from the best available bids and asks. Traders can place orders at any time, and the price adjusts based on market demand, recent economic data, and shifts in currency pair sentiment.
This market resolves around Jul 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final settlement will reflect the actual EURUSD price at the specified time, providing a clear, objective basis for determining winners and losers among participants in this market.
Several signals could shift this market before resolution, including key central bank announcements, changes in interest rate expectations, geopolitical developments affecting global trade, and major economic data releases such as US or European GDP figures, employment reports, or inflation data. Each of these events can cause rapid repricing as traders adjust their positions based on new information and revised expectations for the euro-dollar exchange rate.
