Frequently asked questions

On Predict, the Ethereum price movement market dashboard tracks real-time odds and historical price data for whether Ethereum will move up or down on July 9. The interface displays current market probability, 24-hour trading volume of $29,413, and cumulative liquidity across all positions. Traders use this dashboard to monitor sentiment shifts and place bets on the direction of Ethereum's price action on that specific date. The display updates continuously as new trades execute, giving participants a live view of how the market is pricing this outcome relative to spot price expectations.

Prediction market odds reflect the collective belief of traders about Ethereum's price direction, often diverging from short-term spot price momentum. While spot markets react to immediate supply and demand, this market aggregates forward-looking sentiment over a longer timeframe. Traders who expect volatility or have conviction about directional bias will move odds away from 50–50, creating a signal distinct from current exchange prices. Comparing these odds to analyst forecasts and on-chain metrics can reveal whether the market is pricing in known catalysts or overlooking emerging risks.

On Predict, traders set the odds through an order-book or automated market maker mechanism, with each share representing a claim on one outcome. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the probability assigned by the market; as traders buy or sell, the odds shift to balance supply and demand. Liquidity and trading volume determine how quickly prices move in response to new information, so deeper markets tend to have tighter spreads and faster price discovery.

This market resolves around Jul 9, 2026, at which point the outcome is confirmed based on Ethereum's verified price movement on July 9. The result will be determined by comparing the opening and closing prices from credible public sources, ensuring an objective and transparent settlement. Once the event is verifiable from established market data, the winning outcome is locked in and traders receive their payouts according to their positions.

Major catalysts include Ethereum network upgrades, regulatory announcements affecting crypto markets, macroeconomic data releases, and shifts in Bitcoin sentiment. Large whale trades or institutional positioning changes can also swing odds significantly. On-chain metrics such as staking activity, exchange inflows, and developer activity may signal conviction among informed traders. Broader market events—interest rate decisions, geopolitical developments, or competing blockchain announcements—can create volatility that reshapes expectations for Ethereum's price direction on the settlement date.
