This market will resolve to "Up" if the close price is greater than or equal to the open price for the ETH/USDT 1 hour candle that begins on the time and date specified in the title. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "Down". The resolution source for this market is information from Binance, specifically the ETH/USDT pair (https://www.binance.com/en/trade/ETH_USDT). The close « C » and open « O » displayed at the top of the graph for the relevant "1H" candle will be used once the data for that candle is finalized. Please note that this market is about the price according to Binance ETH/USDT, not according to other exchanges or trading pairs.
Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect trader consensus about Ethereum's direction at the May 31, 7AM ET snapshot, which may diverge from current spot price momentum or technical analysis. While spot markets price immediate supply and demand, prediction markets incorporate longer-term expectations and tail risks. Comparing Polymarket odds to analyst forecasts and on-chain sentiment indicators can reveal whether the market is pricing in volatility, regulatory news, or macroeconomic shifts that spot traders may not yet fully reflect.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, this event is priced as a binary contract where traders buy and sell shares representing "Up" or "Down" outcomes. The current probability of each outcome is reflected in the share price, ranging from 0 to 1 (or 0% to 100%). Liquidity and order-book depth determine how easily traders can enter or exit positions. As the May 31, 7AM ET snapshot approaches, prices typically tighten as uncertainty resolves and new information emerges.
Key catalysts include major protocol upgrades, regulatory announcements, macroeconomic data (inflation, interest rates), Bitcoin price movements, and large on-chain transactions or whale activity. Ethereum-specific developments such as staking changes, layer-2 adoption milestones, or security incidents can also shift sentiment. Market-wide events like Fed policy shifts or geopolitical tensions may trigger volatility. Monitoring social sentiment, developer activity, and derivatives funding rates can help anticipate directional moves before the May 31 snapshot.
