This market will resolve to "Up" if the close price is greater than or equal to the open price for the ETH/USDT 1 hour candle that begins on the time and date specified in the title. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "Down". The resolution source for this market is information from Binance, specifically the ETH/USDT pair (https://www.binance.com/en/trade/ETH_USDT). The close « C » and open « O » displayed at the top of the graph for the relevant "1H" candle will be used once the data for that candle is finalized. Please note that this market is about the price according to Binance ETH/USDT, not according to other exchanges or trading pairs.
On Polymarket, the Ethereum Up or Down - May 31, 2PM ET market is priced as a binary contract where each outcome trades between 0 and 100 cents. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders buy shares representing "Up" or "Down," and the price of each reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring by the deadline. As new information surfaces—regulatory news, technical developments, or macroeconomic shifts—the price adjusts to reflect updated market consensus. Liquidity and order book depth determine how easily traders can enter or exit positions.
The Ethereum Up or Down - May 31, 2PM ET market resolves on May 31, 2026. At that time, the outcome is determined by comparing Ethereum's price at the specified moment against the reference level. The winning outcome is paid out in full, while the losing outcome expires worthless. Resolution is final once confirmed, and traders receive their winnings or losses reflected in their account balance shortly after.
Key catalysts for Ethereum's direction include regulatory announcements, major protocol upgrades, macroeconomic policy shifts, and Bitcoin price movements. Institutional adoption news, DeFi ecosystem developments, and changes in staking or validator activity can also influence sentiment. Market-wide risk-off events, Federal Reserve decisions, and geopolitical tensions may trigger volatility. Technical levels and options expiry dates can create short-term momentum. Monitoring on-chain metrics, whale transactions, and derivatives funding rates helps traders anticipate directional shifts before resolution on May 31, 2PM ET.
