This market will resolve to "Up" if the close price is greater than or equal to the open price for the ETH/USDT 1 hour candle that begins on the time and date specified in the title. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "Down". The resolution source for this market is information from Binance, specifically the ETH/USDT pair (https://www.binance.com/en/trade/ETH_USDT). The close « C » and open « O » displayed at the top of the graph for the relevant "1H" candle will be used once the data for that candle is finalized. Please note that this market is about the price according to Binance ETH/USDT, not according to other exchanges or trading pairs.
Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect traders' collective belief about Ethereum's direction by May 31, 12PM ET, but they differ from spot price expectations because they embed longer-term sentiment and tail risk. Spot prices react to immediate news and technical levels, while prediction markets price in sustained conviction over weeks. Comparing Polymarket odds to analyst forecasts or on-chain metrics can reveal whether the market is pricing in more bullish or bearish scenarios than current technical analysis suggests.
On Polymarket, this event is priced as a binary contract where traders buy and sell shares representing either the "Up" or "Down" outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current odds reflect the balance of buy and sell orders; as more capital flows into one side, that outcome's price rises and its implied probability increases. Prices move continuously throughout the trading day, and the final settlement price at May 31, 2026 will be determined by Ethereum's actual price movement relative to the specified threshold.
The market resolves at May 31, 2026, which marks the official end time for this prediction event. At that moment, Ethereum's price will be assessed against the predetermined threshold to determine whether the outcome is "Up" or "Down." All open positions settle at that time based on the final determination, and traders receive payouts according to which side they backed. The exact price source and settlement methodology are specified in the market's terms.
Major catalysts for Ethereum price movement include regulatory announcements, macroeconomic shifts, Bitcoin volatility, Ethereum network upgrades or security incidents, and shifts in institutional adoption. Staking yield changes, DeFi protocol developments, and broader crypto market sentiment can also drive significant moves. Technical levels and options expiry dates may trigger sharp swings. Traders monitoring this market watch on-chain metrics, developer activity, and correlation with traditional markets to anticipate directional pressure before May 31, 12PM ET.
