This market will resolve to "Up" if the Ethereum price at the end of the time range specified in the title is greater than or equal to the price at the beginning of that range. Otherwise, it will resolve to "Down". The resolution source for this market is information from Chainlink, specifically the ETH/USD data stream available at https://data.chain.link/streams/eth-usd. Please note that this market is about the price according to Chainlink data stream ETH/USD, not according to other sources or spot markets.
On Polymarket, the Ethereum Up or Down - June 9, 8:00AM-12:00PM ET market is priced as a binary contract where traders buy or sell shares representing each outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current odds reflect the ratio of capital allocated to each side, with prices ranging from 0 to 1 (or 0% to 100%). As traders transact, the automated market maker adjusts prices to balance liquidity. The cost to buy a share equals the current probability; selling returns the inverse. Prices tighten or widen based on order flow and conviction around Ethereum's movement during that four-hour window.
Key catalysts for Ethereum price movement during the June 9 window include Federal Reserve announcements, major crypto regulatory news, Bitcoin volatility, Ethereum network upgrades or security incidents, and macroeconomic data releases. Institutional trading activity, options expiration, and large whale transactions can also trigger sharp directional moves. Market sentiment shifts driven by social media, analyst downgrades, or positive DeFi developments may influence short-term momentum. Geopolitical events and traditional market opens can create spillover effects into crypto during that specific four-hour window.
