This market will resolve to "Up" if the close price is greater than or equal to the open price for the ETH/USDT 1 hour candle that begins on the time and date specified in the title. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "Down". The resolution source for this market is information from Binance, specifically the ETH/USDT pair (https://www.binance.com/en/trade/ETH_USDT). The close « C » and open « O » displayed at the top of the graph for the relevant "1H" candle will be used once the data for that candle is finalized. Please note that this market is about the price according to Binance ETH/USDT, not according to other exchanges or trading pairs.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, the Ethereum Up or Down - June 9, 1PM ET event is priced as a binary contract where traders buy or sell shares representing each outcome. The current implied probability for the leading outcome reflects accumulated buy and sell orders. Share prices range from 0 to 1 (or 0% to 100%), with the spread between bid and ask prices indicating liquidity and trader uncertainty. As the June 9, 1PM ET timestamp approaches, prices typically tighten as the outcome becomes more certain.
The market resolves at Jun 9, 2026. At that moment, Ethereum's price direction relative to its opening level at June 9, 1PM ET determines which outcome wins. The exact resolution criteria—whether the market uses spot price, a specific exchange reference, or a time-weighted average—are defined in the market's terms. Once the reference price is confirmed, the winning outcome is paid out in full and the losing outcome expires worthless. Resolution typically occurs within hours of the deadline.
Key catalysts for Ethereum price movement include Federal Reserve policy announcements, Bitcoin volatility, major DeFi protocol updates, regulatory news, and macroeconomic data releases. Ethereum-specific developments such as network upgrades, staking changes, or large whale transactions can also drive directional moves. Broader crypto sentiment shifts tied to institutional adoption or market-wide liquidations may amplify volatility. Traders monitor these signals to adjust positions before the June 9, 1PM ET deadline, making prediction market odds increasingly sensitive to breaking news and technical levels.
