This market will resolve to "Up" if the Ethereum price at the end of the time range specified in the title is greater than or equal to the price at the beginning of that range. Otherwise, it will resolve to "Down". The resolution source for this market is information from Chainlink, specifically the ETH/USD data stream available at https://data.chain.link/streams/eth-usd. Please note that this market is about the price according to Chainlink data stream ETH/USD, not according to other sources or spot markets.
Prediction market odds reflect collective trader expectations about Ethereum's direction during that specific four-hour window, whereas spot price expectations typically focus on current market sentiment or analyst forecasts. Prediction markets incorporate real financial incentives and continuous price discovery, often capturing forward-looking sentiment more dynamically than static analyst calls. Comparing the implied probability on Polymarket to broader market commentary or technical analysis can reveal whether traders are pricing in tail risks or consensus moves that mainstream analysis may underweight.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, this event is priced as a binary contract where traders buy and sell shares representing either an up or down outcome for Ethereum during the June 8, 8:00AM-12:00PM ET window. The market price of each outcome reflects the collective probability assigned by active traders. Prices range from 0 to 1, where higher prices indicate stronger conviction in that outcome. Volume and liquidity on Polymarket determine how easily traders can enter or exit positions at any given time.
The market resolves at Jun 8, 2026. Resolution is determined by comparing Ethereum's price at the end of the specified four-hour window against its price at the start of that window on June 8. The outcome depends on whether the closing price is higher or lower than the opening price during 8:00AM-12:00PM ET. Once the resolution window closes, the market settles based on the verified price data, and winning shares are credited to traders who backed the correct outcome.
Major catalysts include regulatory announcements, macroeconomic data releases, Bitcoin price movements, and crypto-specific news such as protocol upgrades or exchange developments. On-chain metrics like large whale transactions or staking changes can also shift sentiment. Market-wide events—Federal Reserve statements, inflation data, or geopolitical developments—often trigger volatility across crypto assets. Additionally, technical levels, options expiry, or derivative liquidations during that four-hour window could create sharp directional moves. Traders should monitor news flow and economic calendars leading up to June 8.
