This market will resolve to "Up" if the close price is greater than or equal to the open price for the ETH/USDT 1 hour candle that begins on the time and date specified in the title. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "Down". The resolution source for this market is information from Binance, specifically the ETH/USDT pair (https://www.binance.com/en/trade/ETH_USDT). The close « C » and open « O » displayed at the top of the graph for the relevant "1H" candle will be used once the data for that candle is finalized. Please note that this market is about the price according to Binance ETH/USDT, not according to other exchanges or trading pairs.
Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect trader consensus on Ethereum's direction by the June 6 deadline, which may diverge from current spot price momentum or technical analysis. While spot markets react to immediate supply and demand, prediction markets price in longer-term expectations and tail risks over the full event window. Comparing Polymarket odds to analyst price targets or on-chain sentiment indicators can reveal whether traders expect mean reversion, continuation, or volatility. These differences highlight how prediction markets incorporate forward-looking uncertainty beyond today's price action.
On Polymarket, Ethereum Up or Down - June 6, 3PM ET is priced as a binary contract where each outcome (up or down) trades as a separate share. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current odds reflect the collective bets of Polymarket traders, with prices ranging between 0 and 1 (or 0% to 100%). As traders buy or sell shares, prices adjust continuously to balance supply and demand. The spread between up and down odds indicates market certainty; tighter spreads suggest high confidence in one direction, while wider spreads reflect genuine disagreement about Ethereum's June 6 trajectory.
Major catalysts include Federal Reserve policy announcements, Bitcoin price swings, Ethereum network upgrades or security incidents, and macroeconomic data releases. Regulatory news from the SEC or international bodies can trigger sharp directional moves. On-chain metrics like exchange inflows, whale transactions, and staking changes may signal trader positioning. Technical levels and options expiry dates can create momentum shifts. Market-wide risk-off events or altcoin rallies also influence Ethereum's short-term direction. Monitoring these signals helps traders assess whether current Polymarket odds fairly price the probability of an up or down move by June 6.
